Anxiety and marijuana go hand in hand; whether you are finding relief with a puff of pot, or dealing with weed-induced apprehension. When it comes to weed-induced, most people have found significant relief with...legalization! It's amazing how not being worried about going to jail relieves A LOT of paranoia that most people experience when they get high. But, truth be told, there is still anxiety inducing cannabis out there! Even potheads can find unwanted thought patterns creep up during their journey. Some people have routinely bad experiences. The good news is that there IS an option for all of us to avoid the 'noid! Even those who are riddled with anxiety, listening to society tell them how cannabis can help, but are so sensitive that even CBD doesn't bring you peace- you have options too! When it comes to treating anxiety and marijuana, there are numerable possibilities.

I went to Colorado for my first time this past weekend. While I wasn't there for the weed, I certainly didn't let that stop me from having a great cannadventure. I Goldilocks my way through for the stankiest strains, and the DANKest dispensaries. My sweet tooth takes me on an edible adventure, and I fare far better than a friend does. The altitude is no joke guys! Which, naturally, means I really wanted to take a dab up there! Especially since I purchased this new-to-me-thing called zombie resin. Luckily I came across a cannabis smoking club. Let's just all take a moment of pause for how wonderful that phrase sounds... As we safety, I talk stoner games. Well, A stoner game.

Thanks to the amazing Soothing Sue, I got a chance to go to the High Times Cannabis Cup. After a few, quick Stoner Moments, we move on to my experience. I talk about some of the things that makes the HTCC worth going to, and some of the things that make it not quite for everyone yet. This industry convention is the biggest and most diverse of the cups, and that kind of variety brings a lot of chances for some free schwag! The only kind of schwag you're gonna find around those parts. I discuss some of the goodies I got to bring home, and set the scene with some stories of my time roaming the grounds. In the Safety Meeting I tell you about my new Peace, Mouth Peace.

Happy 4/20! I'm so excited, I didn't want you to have to wait to Spliff it with me. Sit back and let's toke it up while I tell you a little story about when I first tasted that Devil's Lettuce. But after we answer a friend and listener question, "How many puffs does it take to get to the center of a fat blunt?" Hmmm, how many puffs DOES it take?! Let's find out!
What a Spliffin' great day! I've got listener questions to discuss, specifically about how people with chronic pain can learn more about their options. I hope you find the direction useful, because you've got A LOT of options! Don't be overwhelmed, though, one toke at a time. Before that, I catch up on some Stoner Moments, both from the drug test episode, and some waaaay back stuff. Then, it's time for a Safety Meeting! As we sess, I talk about one of my favorite new toys, a flower vaporizer that I can finally get excited about!

Big changes in the air around drug testing; The CDC has taken a stance against it! WHUT?! Yeah, that really happened. In light of the serious pharmaceutical problem this country faces, the Hippocratic Oath, cost prohibitive practices, and the overwhelming research that shows no contraindicative reasons to keep patients from using cannabis the CDC shines out as a voice of reason in an often ignorant bureaucratic system. But let's talk about how to pass all those other pesky drug tests! There's no legal protection for patients, but I'll be damned if I'm gonna give up my meds. Cannabis is hands down the hardest drug test to pass, but there are ways to get around it, if you're smart about it and willing to go the lengths. We discuss some options, and I share some ...very personal stories from my own experiences.

The birds are chirping, and we've got a brand new potcast! I begin to unravel the jumble of exhilarating memories from my weekend with ASA's National Medical Cannabis Unity Conference 2016, my favorite time of the year. (Yup, even better than 4/20!) My weekend was packed with the latest in: advocacy on all levels of politics, modern research on the global scale (and by groundbreaking heroes!), cannabis industry -centered on patient needs, and patients themselves, naturally. All rounding out with a Citizen Lobby Day, that brings patients into the halls of DC's legislation makers, speaking out and for ...well this year, for the rescheduling of cannabis under the CARERS Act! It is my honor to have been your vehicle in the vicarious vida. Hope you join me next year!

Activism is exhausting you guys! I don't know how the incredible team at Americans for Safe Access (ASA) does this on a regular basis. They're angels. But I don't have time to go into the entire Unity conference. Today we're just gonna sesh out a bit. Stoner Moments: we find some new ideas and some desperate ones. Prohibition and common courtesy require that some tokers keep their game on the down-low. We're not here to judge, but help! There are some retail options out there to help people maintain a low profile when it's required, like the Smoke Buddy. But if you need to save your dollars or wizard something on the fly, then listen up for some tips! Even if you got your spoof game down, or mastered the shower smoke, maybe there are some things you haven't thought of. I've compiled a list of tips and tricks to help out our secret stoners. Feel free to schmoke along, if you can, while we Sneak A Toke!
More good advice for getting away with it can be found in this article.
And if you got the dough, why not get some professional utensils, like the Smoke Buddy
Well, it finally happened, I got sick. But that's not gonna stop me from getting out a potcast! This week, pardon my froggy voice (my sexy sick voice was yesterday, sorry!) as we go over some Stoner Moments, get Blunted over Snoop's Golden Ticket Contest, and then introduce something different with a recording I have in the vault. The Experts Speak is a Florida based podcast that deals with many issues in the realms of mental and public health. I wondered what professional concerns their expert opinions might have about cannabis. Boy, was I disappointed! I take an excerpt from their July 1, 2015 episode to respond to some of the non-expert like things I listened to. These are popular arguments against legalization from many sides, but will they hold up? (spoiler alert! Not very likely)
