2022 NBA Finals Celtics vs Warriors 88-107 Game 2 Recap

The game was extremely close through the first 24 minutes, but in the third quarter, the Warriors kicked it up a notch and gained some serious separation. Golden State outscored Boston 35-14 in that quarter and they never looked back. They went on to coast to a 107-88 victory, and they tied the series up at 1-1 in the process.

Stephen Curry led the way for Golden State with 29 points, six rebounds and four assists, while Jordan Poole added 17 points off of the bench. As a team, the Warriors forced 18 Boston turnovers and they scored 33 points off of those turnovers. That was a big factor in the outcome.

Jayson Tatum paced the Celtics with 28 points and six rebounds, but his production wasn’t enough as only two other Celtics players scored in double figures. Now, the series shifts to Boston for Games 3 and 4. Here are the biggest takeaways from Game 2.

Yung Joka released a songOn Monday, Toney (AKA “Yung Joka”) released a new music video titled “Play With Me.” The video was uploaded on his YouTube channel at noon ET and has a little over 2,000 views in just under 24 hours.

Kadarius Toney. Thibodeaux a little banged upDaboll said “hopefully he’ll be good to go.” Sources have previously indicated that Thibodeaux’s undisclosed injury isn’t considered serious. And the rookie edge rusher did some light running on the side of Thursday’s ninth OTA practice.

Evan Neal doing a great job in mini campAll eyes will be on Evan Neal entering this season as one of the Giants’ most exciting offseason acquisitions. After a few short weeks of practice, the rookie is already standing out. Neal’s comrade on the right side of the offensive line, Mark Glowinski, described him as a “dominant” player.

Mark Glowinski was asked what his first impression has been of rookie right tackle Evan Neal so far during this summer’s practices:

Evan Neal was a dominant force during his collegiate playing career at Alabama. It should excite Giants fans to hear that their first-round draft pick is continuing his dominant ways in practice. It is also exciting to hear Mark Glowinski describe Neal’s development, explaining how he is learning and improving drastically with every day of practice.

Neal started all 13 games at left guard during his freshman year in 2019 before moving to right tackle in 2020. He was a starting member of the team that won the 2021 College Football Playoff National Championship. Following the 2021 season, Neal announced that he would forgo his senior year and enter the 2022 NFL Draft.

2022 NBA Finals Preview: Celtics vs Warriors

Celtics 100 Heat 96Eastern Conference finals MVP Jayson Tatum led the way with 26 points, Jaylen Brown and Marcus Smart each added 24 and the Celtics beat the Miami Heat 100-96 on Sunday night to earn a berth in the NBA Finals against the Golden State Warriors.

Butler, who willed Miami into Game 7 by scoring 47 points on Friday in Boston, led the Heat with 35 points in what became their season finale. Bam Adebayo added 25 for the Heat, who were down 11 with under 3 minutes to go before trying one last rally.

An 9-0 run, capped by a 3-pointer from Max Strus with 51 seconds left, got the Heat within 98-96. They got no closer. Boston would not be denied, and now is 2-0 in Game 7s in these playoffs after ousting defending champion Milwaukee in the East semis.

NBA Finals 2022The 2022 NBA Finals featuring the Golden State Warriors and Boston Celtics is a dream matchup for basketball fans.

There will be a lot of star power on the court in this series. The environments at Chase Center in San Francisco and TD Garden in Boston should be incredible, too, as two of the league’s most passionate fan bases cheer on their team.

The Golden State Warriors — the betting favorites in the latest NBA Championship odds — will be their foil from the West, having finished off Luka Doncic and the upstart Dallas Mavericks in five games.

Celtics fell into a 3-2 hole to the defending champion Milwaukee Bucks only to win two in a row to earn a berth in the Eastern Conference Finals.

Two years in the wilderness followed, but the brilliance of Curry and Draymond Green was buoyed by the emergence of Jordan Poole and Andrew Wiggins — finally — finding his perfect role.

Warriors X-factor: Big or small?The Warriors are not used to making trade-offs, but they’ve been forced to throughout this playoff run. Unlike the hallowed Death Lineup days, they haven’t been able to field groups that succeed broadly as both offensive and defensive units.

Celtics X-factor: HealthThe series between the Miami Heat and the Boston Celtics was as much about attrition as it was about skill. While Boston physically outlasted Miami, the Celtics didn’t get through unscathed, and health will be the major X-factor that determines their ability to compete at Golden State’s level.

Mavericks 110 Warriors 120
Thompson shimmied his way to 32 points and the Warriors advanced to their sixth finals in the past eight seasons by beating the Dallas Mavericks 120-110 in Game 5 of the Western Conference finals on Thursday night.

Thompson scored 19 points in the first half, including a 3-pointer that he punctuated with teammate Stephen Curry’s signature shake as the Warriors raced out to a 17-point halftime lead and coasted the rest of the way.

Andrew Wiggins added 18 points and 10 rebounds, Green scored 17 points and Curry had 15 points and nine assists. He was named the MVP of the series.

Luka Doncic overcame a slow start to score 28 points for the Mavericks. Spencer Dinwiddie added 26.

Golden State will host the winner of the Eastern Conference finals between Boston and Miami on June 2 in Game 1 of the NBA Finals. The Celtics hold a 3-2 lead heading into Game 6 at home on Friday night.

Heat in a hole after Game 5 loss against Celtics

The Boston Celtics are one win away from the NBA Finals after a convincing 93-80 road win over the Miami Heat in Game 5.

After trailing by five points at the half, they turned in a strong defensive performance in the second half, outscoring the Heat 56-38 to take a 3-2 series lead.

Jaylen Brown led the Celtics with 25 points, while Jayson Tatum added 22 points, 12 rebounds and nine assists. Al Horford provided a spark in the paint, adding 16 points, seven rebounds and five assists.

Miami’s offense fell flat for the second game in a row, shooting just 31.9 percent from the field and just 15.6 percent (7-of-45) from the 3-point line.

Bam Adebayo (18 points, 10 rebounds) and Jimmy Butler (13 points, six rebounds, four assists) were the only Heat starters to finish in double figures.

Heat-Celtics Game 3 recapStill angry over a blowout loss in Miami that cost them home-court advantage in the Eastern Conference finals, the Heat jumped to a 26-point first-half lead over the Boston Celtics in Game 3.

Then Bam Adebayo made sure it was enough – just barely – to give Miami a 2-1 lead in the best-of-seven series.

The Heat center scored 31 points with 10 rebounds, filling a void left by injured All-Star Jimmy Butler and leading Miami to a 109-103 victory Saturday night. Adebayo also had six assists and four of the Heat’s franchise postseason record 19 steals.

Horford scored 20 points with 14 rebounds, and Smart scored 16. Tatum had 10 points on 3-for-14 shooting; he also had six turnovers, and Brown committed seven of Boston’s 2022 playoff-high 24 turnovers.

Warriors – Mavs – Game 2The Warriors outscored the Mavs 68-45 over the final two frames on their way to a 126-117 win. Six different Golden State players hit double-figures in the scoring department, including Kevon Looney, who scored more than 20 points for the first time in his career (21 points, 12 rebounds, 10-of-14 shooting).

Dallas star Luka Doncic bounced back after a poor performance in Game 1, totaling 42 points, eight assists, five rebounds and three steals. Mavericks guard Jalen Brunson contributed 31 points, seven rebounds and five assists in the loss.
