We cannot deny the fact that golf is one of the hottest sports out there for almost all of our patients of any age or athletic ability.  That's why it is super disappointing for people when an injury hits, and they are not able to play.  Some people may think that returning is so easy, but we need to make sure that our athletes are not only able to athletically, but safely as well.  Jamie Osmak's passion is golf, so we are really lucky to have his insight on not only how to assess a golfer, but what we need to make sure we are doing to return them to their sport safely and effectively. We end up discussing knee surgery all of the time, and our focus always ends up being on the ACL, but meniscus tears and meniscal repair is all too common with our athletic population.  But, when these individuals come in, especially after surgery, how are we treating them.  Are they non-weight bearing? Is there a ROM restriction? Thoracic outlet Syndrome (TOS) is a condition that plagues our overhead athletes, but often times goes undiagnosed.  You may have athletes come into the clinic with the classic signs, but there are other signs and symptoms that are not so apparent and could stray you away from this diagnosis. Blood flow restriction is a modality that is highly used in a good number of sports medicine and orthopedic clinics, but that was not always the case.  This novel adjunct to treatment was introduced into the mainstream only a little over a decade ago, and we decided to have an absolute expert on the subject matter on the show to give us the nitty gritty about everything BFR.  We welcome our good friend Johnny Owens of Owens Recovery Science to give us some background of the origins of BFR and how we can and should be using it in our practice.  This is part 1 of a 2 part discussion, and you won't want to miss any of the wisdom that he gives out with the crew
