August 29, 2014 Jake Latiolas was last heard from around 2am when he said he was heading to West Baton Rouge. He never made it there. Allegedly he was last seen sitting along the railing of The Mississippi River Bridge in Baton Rouge next to his truck. In the early morning hours of 8/29 police receive an anonymous call from someone saying they saw someone jump off the bridge. Several things about this do not fit to me. His truck was running, full of gas, 2 packs of cigs on the seat(Jake was a smoker) and they were pulling a boat in the back with fish in it and his phone charging. No one else reported seeing a man jump. Over 100,000 cars pass over that bridge a day. Jake was pretty injured at this time with an injured foot that he had just had surgery on(was using crutches at the time). Jake's crutches have never been found. A dive team was called out and no body(or crutches) were ever found. When Jake's Mother Tina LeClercq went to Jake's trailer and found a very scary scene. Signs of a struggle were all over. There were holes in the walls and a window punched out. Many of Jake's belongings were missing including his TV set and guns. No crutches there either. This is an unsolved case and Jake's mother, Tina, believes strongly that her son was met with foul play and someone tried to make his disappearance look like a suicide. Police say without new evidence this case will stay as an assumed suicide. There is a reward for Tips on Jake's whereabouts. Crime Stoppers of Baton Rouge 225-344-7867 where you can remain anonymous.
