But we here at The Start of Something New are gonna celebrate the end of 2024 with something we haven’t done since season 1, a holiday special! Which is also serving as our season 4 finale! So join us as we discuss a true holiday classic with 1993’s The Nightmare Before Christmas. Jake talks abut how Disney used to be afraid of claiming Jack Skellington and crew as theirs, Kate discusses a lesser known project that Tim Burton had involvement in that aired on Disney Channel only once, and both of them reflect on how the podcast grew in 2024 and what they’re looking forward to in season 5 in 2025.

Alright everyone, let’s do this one more time, with feeling. Now listeners I if you remember about 2 years ago we did a bonus episode discussing the 2022 D23 expo parks and resorts panel, and we left that feeling pretty salty. But seeing as that we are both big fans of theme parks we decided why not return for another bonus episode on the same topic. That’s right we’re talking the D23 2024 Experiences Showcase, and boy was there a lot more to talk about, and I mean like actually talk about, because compared to 2022 we got some real big news this time, no blueskys to be seen this year. Of course we also talk some notable non-parks news from the expo before jumping right in to all the announcements about what’s coming to the international and domestic Disney parks, especially the things announced for Orlando. Jake totally forgot to talk about the lagoon show coming to Paris, Kate gives her reviews of some now opened attractions that were announced in 2022, and both of them talk about the Disney vs Universal of it all that probably helped fuel the announcements this year.
