Why it’s time to work this out and get fabulous because it’s finally time for us to talk about the 2007 Kenny Ortega directed DCOM sequel masterpiece, High School Musical 2. Much like when we talked the first High School Musical we couldn’t do this one alone either, so we’ve brought in special guest Megan to help break down this movie song by song and scene by scene in what is our longest episode yet. Jake gives a special pride month lesson, Kate recalls her experience with DCOM trivia, Megan explains the special way she rewatched this movie, and all three discuss the layers this movie has as well as discuss the two characters with the biggest arch’s.

Listeners, it is that time of year again, the time to celebrate the birth of one of your co-hosts. That’s right it is once again time to celebrate Jakes birthday by taking a pit stop from the DCOM train to discuss a non-Disney movie. So join us in the skies as we join the vikings by discussing the 2010 DreamWorks Animated film, How To Train Your Dragon. Jake gives Kate a quick history lesson about the How To Train Your Dragon franchise, Kate debated the merits of a dragon as a mode of transportation, and both of them discuss what it’s like when a book is adapted into a movie very very loosely.

Hey everyone, so sorry it’s taken like a month for this episode to come out, but hey it’s not like we waited 8 years to release this, I mean, who would even do that? Oh right. Yes listeners we are finally tackling the 2007 sequel to the 1999 DCOM classic, Johnny Tsunami, by talking Johnny Kapahala: Back on Board. Jake tries to solve the mystery of why this released 8 years after the first movie, Kate explains what engaged people should and shouldn’t do, and both of them admit to not being experts on sports involving boards. They also discuss some Descendants and Zombies news as well as talk the upcoming Wizards of Waverly Place reboot.

Okay well maybe but honestly the double dutch should have given it away that it’s time for us to stretch and get the ropes swinging as we kick off 2007 on the DCOM train with the Corbin Bleu and Keke Palmer led hit Jump In! Jake apologizes for not crediting writers, Kate questions how valid the final freestyle performance is, and both of them find very easy connections between this DCOM’s story and ones that came before it, as well as answer a very big fan submitted DCOM question.

There comes a time in every persons life in which they need to spread their wings and leave the nest, even if when they do that they have a completely different face than they had before. Not sure if that was enough to give it away but listeners today we wrap up 2006 on the DCOM train as we discuss the final installment in the Halloweentown series, Return to Halloweentown. Jake proposes a way to fix #MarnieGate, Kate revisits her issues with how college is portrayed in movies, and both of them pitch Halloweentown movies they actually want to watch over this. They also report on some other fourth movie installments, and a Disney Channel show getting a movie, as we continue this transition period from DCOMs to D+OMs.

Though unlike the cheetah girls in this movie we were able to get the whole gang to focus and make this happen because we have returning special guest Liz to help us talk all things cheetahlicious and Barcelona. Jake drafts a potential Cheetah Girls 4, Kate defends but also critiques Galleria, and Liz shares her plans to become a cheetah girl. They also discuss the latest news on some continuing DCOM franchises.

Alright listeners I hope you all did your essay assignment and turned them in, wait what’s this, why did someone turn in something that clearly isn’t an essay? If that didn’t give away that we’re watching the 2006 Panabaker sister double feature DCOM, Read It and Weep, then I’m not sure what will. Jake wonders if this movie was heavily inspired by Mean Girls compared to the book it was actually based on, Kate gets very frustrated at the plot of this movie as a writing teacher, and both of them agree that Jamie definitely needs therapy or some kind of mental health treatment.

Let’s get down to business, to defeat… well not the Huns but something evil at least. That’s right listeners it’s time to do your training and pick out your best formal wear as we kick (haha get it?) off season 4 with the 2006 Brenda Song led classic, Wendy Wu: Homecoming Warrior. Jake recalls his history as a Power Rangers kid, Kate learns that Disney has actually given away properties they’ve bought, and both of them give flowers to Brenda Song for making their childhoods as well as claim her as a Disney legend. They also discuss the current status of the DCOM and decide their new ending point.
