The post Episode 10: Katie Kelley – Being a Leader In Business and In Life first appeared on Michael Knouse.Once, Tammy Strobel and her husband were living a normal middle-class lifestyle: driving two cars, commuting long distances, and living well beyond their means. Now they are living the voluntary downsizing — or smart-sizing — dream.
I’m excited to have Tammy Strobel as my guest this week. Tammy is someone that I admire and have an enormous amount of respect for.
Tammy is a writer, photographer, and teacher. She started blogging in late 2007 to become a better writer and to share her story. Blogging consistently improved Tammy’s writing. So much, in fact, that it resulted in a book deal!
Her first print book, You Can Buy Happiness (and It’s Cheap): How One Woman Radically Simplified Her Life and How You Can Too, was released in September 2012. She’s also self-published two ebooks; Smalltopia: A Practical Guide to Working for Yourself and Go Small & Be Happy: A Little Book of Essays.
All of Tammy’s work can be found on her site; Rowdy Kittens.
Her story has been featured by the New York Times, USA Today, the Today Show, CNN, MSNBC, and a variety of other media outlets.
Before Tammy started her micro-business in 2010, she worked in the investment management industry and in the social service sector as a peer counselor. As an entrepreneur, she currently sustains herself through her writing, photography and teaching.
Do you wonder if it’s possible to simplify your life, leave your stressful job, and succeed at launching a meaningful micro-business? In this episode, you’ll learn how to embrace simplicity while getting your business idea off the ground.
Tammy will discus:
If you’re curious about the idea of living with less stuff, less stress and fewer obligations so you can have more time, money and energy to pursue what means the most to you, be sure to check out this episode.

Welcome to December!
It’s inevitable that at some point in your career, you have wanted to declare war on your work.
Not literally of course. But you may be frustrated enough with your circumstances to wonder what’s required to really start your own business and quit your job one day.
In today’s episode you’ll learn six powerful ways to prepare yourself to quit your job.
Beau Blackwell is in the house and he is the founder of War on Work. Beau has started a movement to help people who are stuck in the corporate world but want to be a thriving, passionate entrepreneur or freelancer.
After graduating from college with a degree in Philosophy and International Affairs, two topics he was extremely passionate about, Beau joined the working world and quickly started climbing the corporate ladder.
Even though he made good money, had quite a bit of freedom in his job, and was what most people would consider successful, Beau always felt like something was missing, and that he wasn’t doing the work that made him feel alive.
Finally, after years of being a “wantrepreneur” and over 12 years being caught up in the rat race, he walked away from a cushy corporate job to become a marketing consultant and entrepreneur.
Now his goal is to help other aspiring entrepreneurs plan their escape, overcome the fear of leaving the corporate world, and build the business they’ve always dreamed of.
In this episode, Beau will provide you with six things to do before you quit your job.
What you’ll learn:
If you are longing to quit your corporate job someday, this episode is for you. There is an incredible amount of actionable advice from someone that’s already done it!
Be sure to listen in and enjoy!

In short, she was given a very cool “job”!
In this episode, Audrey will provide you with some super practical tools that will show you how you can begin to train your intuition to work for you.

Most successful entrepreneurs won’t talk about it, but it’s increasingly becoming a key part of their decision making process. What is it? It’s intuition and it provides an additional level of information that does not come from the analytical, logical, rational side of the brain. It’s arguably the most reliable and valuable tool when its language is understood and developed.
“I rely far more on gut instinct than researching huge amounts of statistics.”
