Lauren and Kieran are in the cave, planning their next move. Kieran genuinely praises her and great banter ensues. 

They meet on a blue toned evening, Kieran dressed for the occasion and Lauren dressed for maximum suspicion - until she unveils and shows Kieran quite the sight, both in dress and weapons.

Our trio steps outside the police station, and is immediately met by a sight: an elegant, if somewhat ridiculous, coiffured figure with a lamp in her hair. She has lost her butler, to whom she is apparently devoted. Her devotion, however, does not preclude her from noticing a handsome someone's baby blues.

Yet the most concerning detail of the Lamplady is not her disloyalty to her butler. Lamplady knows about Lune despite it being an APD secret. Sus much???

We get a mention of Kym's pocketwatch and an exhibit of her amazing time detecting abilities. The butler reappears and all's well that ends well... so far.

The episode ends with Kym's emotional target practice and a mysterious reference to time...

Lauren takes over the investigation, and uses her special abilities to guide her questions, a skill Kieran unbegrudgingly admires. 

Taking a page from the Phantom Scythe's book, Lauren uses McTrevor's child to threaten him,  showing her willingness to use morally ambiguous means to achieve her aims.

McTrevor shows us that while he may be involved in nefarious activities, like many rotten people. he still has someone he cares about and wants to protect. 

Under pressure, McTrevor admits to his collaboration with the Phantom Scythe with a measure of exultant glee, which quickly fades away as Lauren and Kieran get into a squabble about the now epic designation. 

Lauren plays a game of hot and cold with McTrevor, and finds some incriminating paperwork, which she requisitions.

Right on time, she and Kieran swoop out the window as the APD pulls in, only to find McTrevor alone in his room, tied to a chair in his pajamas.

Lauren and Abe have their awaited encounter.  

Lauren hands over the picture, and Abe hands over the information. She asks about the Purple Hyacinth (Mercenary? Caring? You decide!), and then learns more about the Phantom Scythe's cruel methods in forcing people to do despicable things.  

We also learn about Sandman's family with a link to an earlier plot point, and our theory about Kieran's flowers is confirmed.  

Lauren asks, yet again, about the kidnapped kids, and yet again, her fact finding mission is foiled, this time by a hitman, from whom she saves Abel.  

Back at his apartment, Kieran is peacefully reading until a Phantom Scythe epistle is slipped under his door.

Hermann completes reading the letter, and Lauren tries to hide a contented smile behind coffee, only to spit it out moments later when Hermann insults its style.  

March praises the professionalism of the work (go, team!) and Hermann assumes that it is the work of a single man. Not great for egalitarianism, but good for throwing suspicion off Lauren - for now.   

Hermann displays his typical combination of rule strictness and personal arrogance - he wants Lune pursued. He can't tolerate, both professionally and personally, someone going outside the law.  

True to their word, later that night, MacTrevor heads to bed in his jammies, and is met by a fashionably clad pair, greeting him in unison.

The next day at the office, Lauren is cleared of suspicion. Kym jumps on her and Lauren and Kieran exchange an intense eye stare.  

We also see a very suspicious appearance of Lady A, who now shows her ugly colors in her aggressive sexual harassment of lifeguard Will. We now officially REALLY don't like you, Lady A.   

We then have the one truly good news of the story, Maria's release. Justice is served!  

The plot continues with Lauren receiving a note from a cute little messenger. Who is it from? We will wait for the next episode to find out.

Having delivered her missive, Lauren waits anxiously at her desk - so anxiously, in fact, that she fails to notice Kym trying to get her attention.  

Kym, however, immediately notices Lauren's fatigue. We predict that Kym's perceptiveness will be a major force in this story, and maybe even encourage some romance/friendship between Kieran and Lauren. Because after all, this story is headed to a fairy cloud unicorn ending, RIGHT? 🦄  

Lauren tries to lie her way out, but she is clearly inexperienced. We discuss Lauren's straightforward and blunt character and how her ability has actually crippled her in some respects.  

On cue, Hermann receives the missive, and straightaway is more enraged by the sender than intrigued by its contents. We defend his character against the fandom's slander and describe him as lawful good/neutral.
