The Strange Road

Connecting the Dots Part 2

Vijay is back y'all! We had a ton of inspiring comments from the last

episode with Vijay. We were able to squeezed in this episode right

before Vijay left to move back home to India. He has been traveling all

over continuing his research into the connections and similarities of

all the ancient traditions of the world. Vijay's presentation tripled in

information since the last time he was on.

Ancient Civilizations Were Connected: Vijay Amirtharaj

We spoke with him on a Twitch Stream a month ago and has expanded his scope even further since this episode was recorded. What really blew my mind was the similarities of temple complexes and ancient languages. So many old traditions have words that share the same sound and phonetics of other traditions. Like Hopi, Sanskrit and the most ancient spoken language in the world, Tamil.

BIO: Vijay Amirtharaj is from India, a Master’s in Psychology. A self-realized man with a motive to enlighten the community with the ancient knowledge that he has gathered over the years of research in and other religions. Have given a unique perspective to ancient sites in the USA that no one else has done before. He is actively engaged in initiating an institute in India and other countries for higher consciousness & Scientific Hinduism Specializing in Yogic, religious and life science.

Connecting the Dots Part 1

We met Vijay at an event we live streamed near Serpent Mound this summer. He had a pretty interesting presentation about the connection between the ancient Hindu practice of yoga and ancient people that built the fantastically complex Earthworks found all across America. The crew and I thought it would be great to have Vijay on and explore these subjects a little deeper. This was a really thought provoking presentation and gave me some things to think about.

In this episode my boy Eric Rollin and I sit down to chat about his company Works of Freedom Ohio and the work they are doing to help inspire the youth through music in the Columbus, Oh area. We are in strange times with the Covid-19 shutdowns and protests spreading across the country in response to the killing of George Floyd. Eric has a great perspective about what is currently happening to black communities all across America. I’ve had some pretty deep and intense experiences with Eric and respect his words. I appreciate his honesty when talking about these difficult topics.

Works of Freedom Ohio: Eric Rollin

Rollin is a professional singer/songwriter, educator, mentor and audio engineer. He is the founder of the Columbus Chicken and Beer Festival, co-founder and singer/songwriter  for the national band Mistar Anderson, and founder of the local music initiative "The Break" (longest running freestyle hip-hop open-mic night in Columbus, Ohio). He is also a member and/or advocate of various non-profit organizations dedicated to community music development.

Mr. Rollin, former music instructor at Hanna Aston Middle School with mentor Jim Shaw, founder of Columbus Songwriting Workshop. He currently serves as the songwriting instructor at Franklinton High School. For the past 16 years, he has been writing music professionally and empowering youth by encouraging the use of positive and creative outward expression as a tool to increase socialization skills, academic success, and to overcome behavioral and emotional challenges. His passion for improving community by inspiring individual works of freedom.

Giant Skeletons & The Smithsonian | The Strange Road 03

Mikey & Bub take a Detour on The Strange Road finding themselves in the Ohio Valley exploring the stories of the “The Tall Ones”, a forgotten race of giant humans. The guys weed through the countless reports from the late 1800’s and early 1900’s telling of large skeletons found in ancient burial mounds all over North America. Ohio alone has over 300 historical accounts of giant skeletons being revealed in the great earthen mounds of the Ohio Valley. The tales of the lost giants is an extremely controversial subject in the archaeological community. The official position of local archaeological societies and other institutions like The Smithsonian Institute is that there was no lost race of giants….. despite the overwhelming amount of accounts. Are these institutions actively hiding the real truth of North American giants and what's the real truth?

Join us as we take another trip down The Strange Road with The Lost Giants of Ohio…

Ohio Grassman & Regional Cryptids | The Strange Road: Detours #02

The Strange Road: Detours presents even more strange tales of cryptids from the Midwest. On this episode Mikey and Bub will be taking a hard right into the world of The Ohio Grassman, The Minerva Monster, The Cedar Bog Monster and The Loveland Frogman. Stories of these hidden creatures have been passed down from generation to generation here in Ohio. In the case of the Grassman sightings date back 150 years and stories from the many tribes in the Ohio River Valley are still alive today. The Loveland Frogman has been in the conscious mind of Ohioans dating back to the 17th century originating with The Twightwee tribe, commonly referred to as the Miami People, living near the Little Miami River where the sightings persist even in modern times… maybe.
