I create my dreams
I don’t wait for my dreams, I don’t work to find them… I create them. We think that dreams happen at night and they come and go without our control. The thing we’ve forgotten is that dreams are our wants, our fears, our wishes, our anxieties…it’s a way for our subconscious to speak to us about what we really focus on behind the scenes.
Dreams aren’t happening only when you sleep. Your dreams are being written as you walk this earth. They are being created as we hope, love, and work towards those things we truly desire. We have allowed our fears to dictate our futures, and we have allowed those fears to control the dreams we hold so deeply in our hearts. Fear is the biggest killer of dreams, and it’s the lie we tell ourselves that I cannot have what I want. It’s the excuse we give ourselves to not do the work, as we pull the wool over our eyes so we don’t feel guilty for not chasing after what we truly can have.
However, your focus on fear can be changed…and it’s changed by knowing that fear is ONLY a future projection of thinking—that you cannot do something. Fear is the distraction that keeps us from living in the moment as we try to think too far ahead and play fortune teller. Do you think Steve Jobs had it all figured out when he started, DO you think that Gandhi had all his moves planned when he decided to start a movement on gaining freedom for his country, do you think Martin Luther King Jr. had his dream all figured out before he gave his famous speech on what dreams he did have, and do you think that you have to have it ALL figured out right this moment?
Einstein said, “that the reason for time, is so that we don’t try to do everything at once.”
So today I challenge you not to ignore that fear, but to use it as fuel…to let that fear tell you what you want. Because what we fear is what we truly want…and what we truly fear is about not being successful in reaching the goals we dream of.
Today I challenge to use action, the momentum of now, as you start movement towards your dreams. Your fear is only a future projection of not getting something…and the only way you won’t get your dreams, is if you allow the future to dictate your present moment.
Create your dreams by taking action now. Create your dreams by moving towards your fears. Create your dreams by knowing those who have what we want weren’t lucky…they were afraid, but they decided to do what they were afraid of anyways.
The only way to not reach a dream is to not work towards it. If your dream is worth it, then no force on earth will ever be powerful enough to stop you. If your dream is worth it, then you will work till the ends of the earth to find a way to make it your reality. If your dream is worth it, then it will be bigger than any fear you can ever have.
Know this truth: if you dream it and set a plan to achieve it with the knowing that there is no other option than you obtaining it…then you will make it yours. Be patient, do the work with all your energy in a positive manner, and allow yourself to know you are worthy to have it.
Today’s challenge:
Write down all the goals you wish for your life. Categorize them into 3 sections
- Goals that are simple and can be obtained easily with a minimal effort.
- Medium goals that will take more effort.
- Your so called hard or far out goals…the ones that you have told yourself that they aren’t possible, or are highly unlikely.
Circle one goal for EACH of the 3 categories, so 3 goals in total- the simple, the medium and the harder goals that you want to achieve the most, and begin writing a plan on how you can make progress and even achievement of those goals over the next year.
Bonus work…Chose 3-5 of your hard goals that would be your highest priority in that list…and for those 3-5 goals write individually why you have told yourself they were unachievable…and after you do that write down how it could be achievable for you. The way a dream becomes likely…is first we begin to uncover the lies we told ourselves of why it was impossible, and then we begin to tell the real story of how we can make it possible.
I create my dreams.
