Who I Am Is What I Attract

Our wants are on the conscious level, but who we are is on the subconscious level.  95% of our actions are controlled or directed by our subconscious, which can be a great thing if we’ve aligned our habits up to the way we wish them to be.

But as you and I both know, life gets in the way, problems occur, and we take short cuts that make our lives less efficient in the long run.  We take turns that keep us from realizing our fullest potential…but that doesn’t mean that we have to stay that way.

If our subconscious was altered to give room for bad habits, then it can be altered to regain the good habits we wish. No I won’t disillusion you that it’ll be easy, and that you’ll have no worries or problems, but I will guarantee that it will be worth every moment.

The way we become better is we strive to be our best in each moment. We ask ourselves questions like, “what’s important now,” or “how do I want to live my life…is it by taking the easy road and not becoming better, or do I want to create the best habits and create a better life by working harder?”

The hard roads are the better roads, not just because they make us better, but because they challenge us, and that’s what makes life exciting. We don’t choose a movie or book that doesn’t have problems, we choose one with conflict and struggles because it’s more exciting…and the same goes for us. While we think we want the easier road, we secretly wish to be challenged.

Take for example a good friend of mine purchased coaching that cost him 50,000 for one year of coaching. As he was driving to the bank to wire money to his new coach, he was thinking of having a conversation with the coach asking if he could do two 6 month for $25,000 instead…just in case it didn’t work out.

As my friend and I were talking about his drive to the bank, he said he actually wanted the new coach to tell him “no” because he knew he needed to be challenged and needed help taking the harder road.  The new coach did tell him “no” and said that he didn’t work that way, and my friend respected that coach even more so because he helped him to take the harder road that he ultimately wanted…but was allowing his doubt to waver him a bit.

So while you may not be where you wish to be, remember that every moment is a chance to focus differently. It is a chance to take the harder road in being purposeful in what we say, think, and do. And when you become that purposeful, you begin changing your subconscious…which actually makes the harder road easier for you to travel over time. Who you are is what you attract, so let’s rise to a higher level of awareness to become who we were always meant to be.

July 10th-#191 Mindful Monday The Strong Within Daily Affirmation Podcast

I am the editor of my life

Every cut I make in my life is NOT to just take away, but to make things more beautiful.  The reason a book or movie will have an editor is not to take away, but to make sure the most important things get highlighted.  So editing is not about subtraction so to speak, editing is about focusing on what truly matters to us.

Are you willing to look at what matters to you, and to release what is no longer serving you? Sometimes the things that are no longer serving you can be emotions or they can be physical things. When you look at what matters to you, it’s easier to see if the things you are holding onto are out of fear, or out of truly needing and wanting.  A great way to decipher if you’re holding onto something physical that may be weighing you down is to ask a question like this… “If I didn’t own this ‘thing,’ how much would I pay for it?”

Relationships can be a trickier endeavor to look at in seeing what serves you and in what isn’t helping you in your life anymore. It can be hard to let go of people, as we don’t want to give up on them…but if they are not bringing value into our lives, then we are doing a disservice to them…and ultimately ourselves.  Because we are not bringing our best energy to people who drain us consistently.  This is an activity I have done that my mentor taught me. Pull out a sheet of paper and write down all the names of relationships in your life…and then write down in one word what that relationship is giving you or what it means to you in ONE WORD.

I did this years ago and it helped me to find great clarity in why certain people left my life, and it helped me to cherish the people who were still in my life a lot more by knowing what they meant to me.

So what is in your life that you need to edit? It’s not that you need to subtract things, but how can you get to the root of why you have these people or things in your life?  How can you see what’s really important and make all your actions be consistent with making those emotions your main focus?  How can you edit the things that are holding you back in your life, and how can you allow the most beautiful things to shine their brightest by editing your life with purpose.

You are the editor of your life.

I create a beautiful life

We think life just happens, that we are the victims of circumstance and we make the best of what the gods have given us, what fate has bestowed upon us, or what the forces of nature have allowed us.  I do believe in things outside of ourselves directing our actions…but in the end we are deciding how we want to act according to that event.  We decide how we want to experience the force or event outside of us.

It’s easy for us to say go out and find a great life, go out and find a great job, go out and find the things you desire, and I get it…we need to search and we need to look for the things that make us feel alive…but I think we need to look deeper and instead of putting it all to fate, we put some control back into our hands.

You CREATE a beautiful life…even in the crappiest of circumstances… you decide whether to play the victim or the victor of your life.  You are the author of your life story, you are the creator of your universe, and you are the one deciding to make your existence one of heaven or hell. NO ONE else can do that for you…except yourself.

So if you want to live a beautiful life, if you want to make your moments matter, and if you want to have more impact in all you do… remember that you are more in control than you have given yourself credit for.  You are a creator, and you can create an amazing life…but only if you choose to.

I choose happiness

Happiness doesn’t find me, I choose it… The place you are in your life has nothing to do with luck, it has to do with knowing that everything you think, say, and do…was all about choosing your exact place.

This can be upsetting for people to hear, and I will get questions or statements of people saying, ”oh… I chose my sickness, I chose that person to leave my life, or I chose to be laid off from my job?”  This is a tricky subject as I’m trying not to put the blame on anyone, I’m trying to help them relinquish the blame on anyone’s part, even the blame on themselves.

Yes, there are things I don’t understand such as why children die, or why Hitler decided to do what he did…but there’s a place of frustration we can get to where we let the outside things determine where we are.  A place where we give up and say, “I can’t control my stress levels and my wellness so I’m just going to let the medicine take over, or we might say I’ve been looking at this dream of mine for awhile but I’m too nervous to do anything about it so I’m going to stop dreaming, or when we say—working on this relationship is too hard so let’s just give up.”

I can’t tell you where you need to be, but I do hope to instill a mentality of relinquishing your state of victimhood.  By doing this, we actually take control of our lives. 

We think that things just happen and it’s our bad luck…but if you look at certain studies that link stress to certain sicknesses…maybe it might change your mind about the possibility of healing and how we deal with sickness.  What if you were to learn how to reduce your stresses by meditation, thinking differently, and working to focus your emotions differently?  And not just try it here and there, but to commit to it fully.

I get it, we find ourselves in places that we feel cornered, and it’s easier to feel scared, alone, and trapped.  But at every moment we have the choice to give up, to fight, or to learn to pivot our energy. 

I work to help people stop fighting…the reason being is aggression brings more anger with it…and so I work to help people pivot towards where they want to look instead of where they don’t want to be.

What I’ve learned is that where there seems to be a level of chaos, on a higher level there is harmony…and we can choose to take the higher ground and live in that harmony.  We can choose not to play the victim, and we can begin to understand we are stronger than we ever gave ourselves credit for.  I believe God gave us so many tools within us, but we have been conditioned from an early age that we don’t have those powers…only things outside of us can heal us.

What if you were to believe differently? What if you were to know that in each moment you choose happiness, and that is the beginning point of healing every hurt you’ve ever felt…physically, emotionally, and spiritually. 

You have nothing to lose by focusing on the happier points. I know people will say I am being delusional…but my optimism is purposeful in each moment. My optimism is not blind

Take for example, two people who are diagnosed with the same terminal illness…and one chooses to focus on happiness and healing and the other decides to focus on fear and what they will be missing out on.  Even if they die upon the same day…the one who chose happiness…lived a thousand lifetimes during that time compared to the other person.

I choose happiness…because healing always starts with the understanding that I can choose a path…more towards healing, rather than fear or blaming.

July 8th-#188 Fantastic Friday

I believe in myself

The greatest power I possess is the belief in myself, as that is the starting point for any action I take.  If I believe in my abilities, then I will find a way to make what I wish…a reality; but if I doubt myself I will find excuses of why I can’t.  We think that success has to be about hard work, and the hard will come if we decide to pursue our dreams, but the hardest work is the initial process….of deciding to believe in yourself.  The hardest work is in knowing you are worthy to have and to pursue what you desire.

The reason it’s so hard to pursue our worthiness is because In every moment we decide whether we are worthy or not…it’s the continual process of being AWAKE…it’s the continual process of choosing to take the path we desire in EVERY moment, rather than the easier path of allowing things to be chosen for us. And when we don’t choose… we still are choosing.

So what path will you choose? Will you choose the path of ease, the path of not believing in yourself and waiting for things to happen to you…or will you choose the path of continual choosing, the harder path that asks us to be awake and alive in our lives, the path of pain and struggle as we will lose people who don’t align with us, will you choose the path of living and focusing on higher frequencies which may mean that sometimes you’ll have to travel alone, and will you choose the path that you deserve in knowing you are worthy to become the amazing person you were always created to be.

July 7th- #187 Thoughtful Thursday

I partner with the universe

Whatever you decide to call your higher power matters not…whether it be The Universe, God, Buddha, Allah, Krishna…or even Nothingness….it really doesn’t matter.  Not because the idea doesn’t matter, but our words on trying to describe the infinite power of creation is not dependent on whether we believe or not… the creation is already happening…in every moment.

It’s like the placebo effect.  You don’t need to know the how you are cured, you just need to know it works.

The universe is ever abundant to give us whatever we desire, but we must elevate our levels of consciousness and actions.  Our subconscious is who we are…and our consciousness alters our subconsciousness every day .  Meaning that what you think, say, or do…over and over again will be downloaded into your subconsciousness.

That’s not a bad thing, it’s a call to higher awareness of our lives...it’s a call to be awake…it’s a call to pay attention to who we want to be and how we act upon those wants in every moment.

When you partner with the Universe you’re actually living in the future while being in the present moment.  Meaning that everything you can think about is already within you.  It’s the ever abundant mindset that if you can think it… AND FEEL it… in every fiber of your bones then you will allow it to come into your life.

That’s the catch…it’s not just positive thinking…it’s positive becoming. It’s FEELING and knowing that what you think you will create in the present moment. 

So if you want a beautiful relationship instead of saying I want a beautiful relationship…you actually talk as if you already have it.  You might say I am so grateful for the relationship in my life that makes me feel alive, happy, and blessed. I am so excited to spend every moment in their presence.

So if you want to write a book…instead of saying I will write a book someday…you might say I love holding my newly published book in my hands, it feels so good. And you visualize holding the book in your hands.

Or if you want to have the body you desire, instead of looking in the mirror and focusing on what you don’t like, you might say…I love how great I feel fitting into this swimsuit I am so glad I put myself first by doing the work of thinking differently about myself to make this possible…and then truly feel how it would feel to feel good in the swimsuit you desire to be in.

The universe is ever abundant. It’s not that it doesn’t grant some wishes and ignore your other wishes…it’s that you decide what you can or can’t have.  It’s more than just thinking positively…it’s about FEELING that thing in your life as it’s already happened.  It’s less about doing, and more about becoming…it’s about feeling the success in every fiber of your being when you think about something you want.

July 5th-#186 Wisdom Wednesday

My job, is to be my best self.

It’s not my job to fix anyone…only they can fix themselves…but I CAN be there for them.

So today what if you were to focus on being your best self to be an example of what’s possible, so you not only fix yourself, but you show others they can fix themselves too…if only they try.

I know I want to save people, that maybe I can feel better about myself if I was the one who gave them the answer, the tip, or I did the action for them to save them…but that’s the over action of the ego trying to make me the center of the universe. 

What I really want… is for people to see the best parts of themselves, and I will remind them not through words, but actions of living up to my values…that they TOO already have amazing within them.  I will remind them by with a little self-love, self-respect, and action towards both of those things that they will begin a beautiful journey of creating the best version of themselves. 

By being our best selves we do two things

• We make our lives better
• We become a great energy to help them see that they too can be who they truly want to be.

Being who I am…for myself has always been the better way to reach people, rather than doing the work for them.

My job, is to be my best self.

Jul 4th -#185 Tag Me Tuesday

I face my fears knowing I will always overcome them

The things we fear are not stop signs…they’re guide posts helping to direct us towards what’s important.

What if the next time you were afraid, you were to stop and ask yourself, “why, am I afraid?  What is the thing I really fear?”  For when you can get to the root of the fear, you’ll find that it isn’t as scary as you thought, or maybe the fear was irrational, or that you were more afraid of what would happen if you got what you wished for…and you might not be able to hold onto it. 

In life we fear failure, but I believe we fear success just as much.  I think the fear of success stems from the fear of being found out we aren’t worthy…also known as the imposter syndrome…we all feel like this at times…and it’s a lie to think you aren’t worthy. It’s a way for you to step down and not try because maybe you might fail.  Failure isn’t something bad, it helps you to grow.

Take this podcast for example, I’m making mistakes all the time, and because I put it out there to the world people are giving me feedback and then trying new things. I’m ok with the criticism because it has nothing to do with the work, it’s more about people telling me what they like, and it’s about me putting myself out there to make mistakes to become better from them. If I didn’t put this out there and was always trying to perfect it, then it would never have come out because there is always something more to perfect.

You are worthy, we all are worthy to have great things. When we think we aren’t worthy we are coming from a limited mindset, saying that there is not enough success to go around, and maybe it shouldn’t have been me… someone better should have gotten this.  But the universe is ever abundant to fulfill our every need.  We must remember if we are working to align ourselves up to our highest self…then we are never over staying our welcome.  The Universe can, and will provide, whatever anyone needs…so you haven’t taken anything from anyone.

Most fear is irrational as we worry about things that will never happen to us…what if you were to not look at fear as a caution symbol, but more a value symbol…reminding you that the things you are afraid of are really things that you want to obtain…and what if you were to stop avoiding your fears and start walking more towards them knowing there’s something we want on the other side?

July 3rd-#184 Mindful Monday

I know myself

I choose to NOT just let things happen to me, and wait for the fortunes to find me. I work to know who I am, so I can travel the most fruitful path. I resonate at a higher energy, not because I’m meant to, but because I choose to…because I know I can choose the path of sadness and misfortune, or I can choose the path of success and effort.

One of the greatest journeys we will ever go on, is the journey to know thy self.  And knowing yourself is one of the hardest things you’ll ever do because we are emotionally connected to what we do, we think we make the best choices all the time, we think that we can’t be wrong and that the other person must be crazy, and we think that if someone did us wrong well it must be their fault not ours.

We are a little biased when we come to ourselves, and one of the best ways to gain better perspective is to step out of your shoes and look at your actions and your life from the eyes of a stranger. 

Visualize watching yourself from someone else’s point of view and ask yourself is what I’m doing really helping me to become the person I want to be…or am I not seeing the whole picture and am I NOT holding myself accountable to higher standards like I would everyone else?

We say that God or the Universe will take care of everything, and He will, but you must decide which path you’ll travel… you will decide whether you go through a life of pain, self-pity and playing the victim…or you can go through a life of hard work and effort to love each moment.  You can go through your life of perspective and self honesty to hold yourself to the highest integrity that align with your values, and to share that with those around you.

No matter what path you DO choose…you’ll get the same ending…the doorway to death…but the real question is…did you truly live? Did you work to be as honest with yourself to hold yourself to the highest standards like you expect of others?

I know myself…I don’t play the victim, as I step out of my shoes to truly see who I am and what I’m doing, and if I am on the wrong path… I choose to course correct.  So let’s step out of our shoes, to get perspective, and align to our values with the highest integrity

I create confidence

There’s a lie we tell ourselves over and over again… we go out looking to find things. We go out looking for strength, looking for answers, looking for ourselves…and I think it’s good to pursue after something…but it was never about finding something but more in creating something.

Every time we go up to speak in front of people we don’t just wish for it to happen, but we work to create the confidence we want, every time we go to a job interview we don’t wish for it to go well but we create the confidence to show up, and when we go after a dream we don’t just hope and wish but we create the confidence to pursue it with our hearts fully.

Confidence isn’t something only a lucky few people are given and the rest of us just fake it.  Confidence is not the opposite of the lack of confidence…it is just the choice to step up and show up the best way we can.  When we prioritize what matters to us, and then we work to make each of those interactions important we become more impactful.

Life is about a series of events, not everything crammed together at once. We focus on everything at once and make ourselves nervous instead of saying how can I create the greatest impact in this moment. That takes the pressure off of us to be perfect, and it puts us in the moment to be fully engaged.

Today work not to find your confidence, but know that you create confidence by showing up. So show up, and pivot away from focusing on failing and pivot towards succeeding, by shining your beautiful amazing self… the more you do this, then the more confidence will become a natural by product to everything you put your attention upon.
