I follow my hopes with action.

Hope is one of my strengths, but it can be powerless if you “only” hope for things to happen without doing something about it.  Sometimes that action might just be patience to hear the right answer, and other times it might be taking a step forward and learning from your mistakes.  Hope is a beautiful emotion and idea, but me must cultivate hope by understanding we are not separate from hope, but we are a part of the hope itself too.  So when you hope, make sure you respond with purposeful action instead of just wishing blindly into the sky.

No matter what others do, I always choose to love unconditionally.

It is my hope that one day we will learn to love each other despite all our faults and issues, but until that day we must be the change in the world we want to see.  If you look at some of the most monumental world changers like Jesus, Buddha, Gandhi, Martin Luther King Jr., etc., they decided to love until it hurts.  They decided to turn the other cheek, even if they were beat physically while doing it.  We should stand up for ourselves and not let bullies win, but we must also see that the reason a bully is a bully-they don’t love themselves enough and others so they bring their inner anger out on the world.  They want to change others to fear them or respect them, so they can feel good about themselves.  When you understand that all aggression is a form of self-hate, then maybe we can see it for what it is and not take offense but respond with love.  And when we do this…we might just be changing the course of the world with our small, but NOT inconsequential, action.

When I smile, I always feel better.

When I smile I can conquer anything.  Yes you will have problems and pain and maybe it might sound like a gimmick, but when you smile you actually change the chemistry in your body.  Your inner feelings will get an error message saying I feel bad, but physically something is making me feel better and the subconscious begins to shift.  And it’s always better to smile look at all those grumpy old people who have a frown on their face normally because they have let gravity take over.  Choose to smile to feel better, and to look like a Greek god or goddess in your golden years.

I will have continual faith in myself.

The greatest power I can possess is an unwavering CONTINUAL belief in myself.  Belief in self is richer than all the wealth in the world, it is stronger than a billion man marching army, and it is wiser than the world’s intelligence.  When we have a belief in ourselves, we will make the impossible possible.  We will connect to something greater than just ourselves.   Faith is being able to see the unseen, and I will continually look to find more ways to see my best possible self.

I believe in people, and I will choose to find the best in people.

By us having faith in people, we learn that it doesn’t have to all be on our shoulders.  We can’t be consistently looking behind ourselves to make sure no one stabs us in the back.  It’s counter-productive and it’s a sad statement to make on the world we want to live in.  Yes, not everyone will be out for our best interests, but if we choose to see everyone as untrustworthy then we will be creating a bleak and dark world.  We will not be able to see those who really are good and really do want to help.  Everyone is trying the best they can, and if we can find more ways to believe in people we will find more individuals who go above and beyond.  Our expectations dictate what we receive.

I am smart and can overcome any situation. 

Our thoughts create our reality.  The reason great things happen is because people decided they wanted to create something better.  To change any situation takes a different thought process.  If you do what you did, you will continue to get what you have always gotten.  To change the outcome you have to change your thinking on the subject and then act upon it.  A belief starts out with a simple thought of this is how the world works.  Today, what if you were to create a different thought—one of possibility, one of amazing belief in self, one in self-love and acceptance that you were meant for great things?  Great changes start with a simple change in a thought.  Be different.  Be better!

Words are powerful.  I will craft words that not only build myself up but also those around me.

Words can be like poison or they can be like medicine.  What is the only tool that sharpens with use?  The tongue.  If we use words that cut and hurt, we not only hurt others but we hurt ourselves.  Let us tell the truth, but let us do it with kindness, let us do it with the best interests of other and ourselves in mind.  Find words that empower others, find words that empower you, find words that help expand upon everyone’s inner greatness!

I will find appreciation in this moment.

Today, I will literally stop and smell the roses.  I will use all my sense as I look at the sky, I will pay attention and hear the sounds around me, and I will experience my feelings so I find ways to be balanced with life.  Patience is a virtue and we spend so much time rushing to the next thing that we miss the beautiful things within this moment.  Take a breath and slow down.  You might find that you are not only happier slowing down, but you get more things done.

I love myself.

One of the greatest things we can do is love ourselves. When we love ourselves we give ourselves the support and comfort needed to have the courage to become who we truly wish to be. If you think about people you encourage and support, do you tell them how bad they are and that they can’t achieve what they set their mind to? No, you tell them how good they are and how you believe in them. So why do you treat yourself any differently. Your goals, your dreams, and your best life is produced by loving yourself enough to create the belief, the knowing, that you deserve to feel good about who you are to help you achieve what you want. The real reason we do anything in this world is to feel good, and when we love ourselves enough we help ourselves to get into alignment with our best self which makes achieving our dreams that much easier.

There is beauty all around me.
