What if Bigfoot stories aren’t stories at all?
For years, I laughed at the legends surrounding Bigfoot and Bluff Creek. The footprints, the sightings, the old stories of something massive moving through the Northern California wilderness, I always assumed they were nothing more than folklore.
Then I decided to spend a weekend alone in those woods.
In this episode of After Dark, a man heads deep into the forests near Bluff Creek for a quiet solo camping trip. No friends. No cell service. No other campers. Just a tent, a campfire, and miles of wilderness.
At first, everything is peaceful.
Then the forest goes completely silent.
A massive branch snaps somewhere beyond the firelight. His tent appears to have been moved. An enormous footprint is discovered beside one of the tent stakes. And later that night, something begins slowly circling his tent.
Whatever is outside is close enough to touch the tent.
And when morning finally comes, he discovers something standing between the trees.
Was it a bear? A person? Something else entirely?
Or did he encounter the creature that has haunted the forests around Bluff Creek, California for generations?
Turn off the lights, put on your headphones, and step into the woods for another episode of After Dark, a cinematic horror storytelling series featuring original scary stories, cryptid encounters, urban legends, paranormal mysteries, and unsettling tales inspired by folklore.
