Tawnya's brother DeMarco makes his seasonal visit to the podcast; this time in a professional capacity as a community organizer. They break down some of the lyrics to Billy Joel's iconic song "We Didn't Start The Fire" and get into an in depth discussion about how many of the things mentioned are still relevant today. What role do you play in helping to put out the fires? What is "political hobbyism" and "righteous anger"? Tune in to find out. If you have questions or comments about this topic, feel free to reach out to us and share your thoughts at [email protected].

Yes it's that time of year again! It's Daylight Savings Time, the time of year when we get to "fall back" and set our clocks back one hour to get an extra hour of time in our day. But what exactly is daylight savings time anyway. The concept has always been confusing to Tawnya so she decided to educate herself. Who decided we needed to change our clocks twice a year? What does Benjamin Franklin have to do with it? Tawnya had all the questions and found some answers, but more importantly, does she understand how it works. Tune in to find out. She tells you what she is going to do with her extra hour. What are you going to do with your extra time? Leave a comment and let her know or send an email to [email protected]..

Halloween in the 80's was the best! At least Tawnya thinks so. From the movies to the characters, to the songs, everything was iconic. Well maybe not those plastic costumes and masks. Lol October is also the awareness month for both Breast Cancer and Domestic Violence. She shares some information about male breast cancer and the contact information for the National Domestic Violence Hotline.
What were some of your favorite Halloween memories growing up? Do you still dress up? Leave a comment and let her know. She would love to see them. Tag her in your Halloween photos using #thetsidepodcast so she can shout you out.

They discuss how it made them feel being in that space, their takeaways from it and the benefits of a community garden.
