The cannabis edibles market is expected to surpass $10 billion in sales by 2025.
In Canada #Edibles held a 5.0% market share while in the US captured 10.2% market share in the same time period.
Colorado has the most #marketshare to Edibles at 13.9%, while Saskatchewan has the least at 4.3%.
When we breakdown Edible sales by segments, we find that the majority of sales go to the Gummies segment in both the US (71.1%) and Canada (65.1%).
The majority of sales in both countries go to package sizes with the maximum legal #THC potency, but these maximums vary in the US and Canada.
Looking at demographic data, we see that Edibles are more popular among older groups of consumers, and within each age group, Female customers have a higher affinity for Edibles than their Male counterparts.

When we look at pricing trends in new and mature markets, we see some patterns emerge. In markets that are in early stages of development, we usually see total sales and product assortment grow together.
We see this reflected in the Michigan cannabis market, where sales have grown to $171M from December 2019 to July 2021 and product assortment has grown by 25 times in the same time period to nearly 9,000 products.
Prices can start out high in new markets, but as supply catches up to demand and competition builds, prices begin to decline. In Michigan, for example, the average item price of cannabis products has fallen by 40% from October 2020 to 2021.
Prices can fall in more established markets too. For example, the average price of a gram of Flower in California decreased by 30% from September 2020 to 2021.
We also see patterns in discount strategies in more mature markets and newer markets. In California, discount strategies seem relatively stable with a few retail outliers. In Michigan, however, we see discount strategies shift more significantly since the market is young and in flux.

Cannabis could bring Germany $5 billion a year.
Legalizing cannabis could bring Germany annual tax revenues and cost savings of about 4.7 billion euros ($5.34 billion) and create 27,000 new jobs.
Imports of medical cannabis flower into Germany hit record highs in Q4 of 2020, closing the year with a 37% year-on-year growth.
As cannabis supply into Germany increases, so too does the competition for producers and wholesalers.
Although the German medical cannabis market is at an early stage, it has shown great potential, and its future seems promising. However, it will take time to see how domestic production will affect imports, and how medical cannabis development in Germany will influence the growth of other European markets.

MainStem’s founders, a strategist and a cultivator, were inspired by the exciting, albeit challenging, opportunity to join an industry from the ground up and knew it would be the combination of their unique skills that would drive their success.
MainStem, the cannabis industry's only marketplace and combined purchasing platform, began as a cannabis-centric marketplace for products in 2014. In direct response to customer needs, the company launched Purchase Pro, its SaaS purchasing platform, which allows cannabis operators to perform 100% of their purchasing from one cohesive dashboard.
Co-founder and CEO Alen Nguyen launched MainStem because he saw a marked gap in the corporate cannabis industry. Today, Nguyen is delighted to announce the addition of 130 net new locations in Q2 2021 alone, all of which will utilize MainStem's Integrated Procurement across 22 states.
