Banking giant JPMorgan Chase & Co. informed its brokerage clients they’ll no longer be allowed to purchase cannabis-related stocks and securities. & Canadian cannabis producer Tilray has seen around one-third of its market share in Canada evaporate since it merged with Aphria in May, new data suggests, while rival Auxly Cannabis Group has more than doubled its position over the same period.

Not a surprise when Tilray's management practically bragged about not coming from the cannabis industry, so it shouldn't be a surprise that the brand is becoming obsolete- they barely resonated with their customers & now soccer moms are finding alternative products.

As cannabis regulation rolls on, more people are treating cannabis usage as a social activity to be shared not just with friends but strangers too.

Something akin to lounges crossed with dispensaries, a cannabis cafe allows customers of legal age can find a comfortable place to sit and relax while enjoying food, drink, and a hearty smoke. Whether or not you can purchase cannabis itself at the establishment depends on the jurisdiction you’re in.

However, most cannabis cafes & lounges in the United States seems to have, if not closed out-right, at least shuttered their doors temporarily.

Unfortunately, the concepts of “social distancing” and “social smoking” don’t go hand-in-hand, and as the COVID-19 pandemic forced to adapt their business to safety first, cannabis second.

The future will be bright for cannabis cafes. As modest cafes transform into upscale restaurants, it will be possible to see the new future of the restaurant business - one in which zero-alcohol wines and spirits are the new norm, and patrons prefer to light up some top-flight flower before a meal rather than ordering a traditional appetizer.

The cannabis cafe is definitely an idea who’s time has come in the face of wide-spread legalization.

New adult-use markets usually see tremendous growth when sales begin. For example, sales in Illinois have grown to $127.8M in July 2021.

The impact on medical sales depends on the market. In Illinois, medical sales have remained fairly consistent since adult-use sales began. In Michigan, however, medical sales grew by 75% from January 2020 to July 2021. One key difference we found between medical and adult-use consumers in the same market is in their basket sizes.

Medical patients tend to purchase more at once, resulting in significantly lower average basket sizes for recreational customers. For example in Oregon, the pre-tax average basket size of medical patients over the previous 90 days was 99% larger than that of recreational customers.

Headset also found that medical patients are more likely to purchase Concentrates (especially in Illinois), while recreational customers are more likely to purchase Edibles and Pre-Rolls.

Louisiana has one of the most restrictive frameworks in the nation, but poised for much stronger growth in January when its nine dispensaries will begin selling cannabis flower instead of only tinctures, topicals and portable vaporizers.

Edibles and “metered-dose” vaporizers and delivery became available in 2020, and those products immediately were popular, despite regulatory red tape that hindered both products getting to market.

With the addition of flower and some other tweaks to the MMJ program, medical cannabis sales in Louisiana are projected to roughly double next year to around $110 million next year, and could get as high as $400 million by 2025 according to MJBizFactbook.

Despite the changes, the market remains among the most restrictive in the United States and licensed businesses still report obstacles to success.

Cannabis stocks could become hot again on Wall Street Bets after Marijuana Moment reported Friday a new Republican-led congressional marijuana legalization bill is "imminent."
