The Tangent - 122: A Humongous Fist

It's always a slog the first podcast after July 4th here in the Good OL' USA. We manage to get by, and the only way we know how is talking about some games. Well, that and our weeks...

Brian takes the reigns and lets us know about a 2D-puzzle platform called, Typoman. Yes, it involves letters. If you're anything like Brian you'll be trying all the dirty words. It's a very dark game, and you die quickly and brutally. Hopefully, it's even worse when you forget the oxford comma. What's really even worse is more Overwatch talk with Gary. He says he can't stop playing. Really? Could have fooled in. In all seriousness, there is a new character that Blizzard announced, Doom Fist. Guys, he doesn't look like Terry Crews. No, no at all. Gary's also got that Lawbreakers beta going. Played about four games, and can't wait for the game to come out. He picked up Left 4 Dead 2 and lets us know it feels "just right" on the PC. Can only imagine. Lastly, Justin is achievement hunting in Fallout 4. He's sunk 10 - 15 hours and has got four. Plenty left to get.

The Drunken News: Gameshow Edition is still here. Brian lets off a rant about Doom Fist. Sometimes 30 seconds is too short though... In the news we talk the Splatoon 2 Direct, top Xbox gamerscore, Jak and Daxter re-release, Linux gaming support, and more.

The Tangent - 121: A King Named DJA

Up first this week is Justin. He's got a game we discussed before, Abzu. He played and beat it, and he really did enjoy it. Then, get this, Justin has a puzzle board game that's free on iOS called, Windin. Can't beat that. Plus, Uncharted 4, Breath of the Wild, and Overwatch (Woo!). Next up, Gary. Lawbreakers, the BETA. It's more polished since PAX and the first BETA. There's a few new characters too. Arrives in August for $40. Nice. There's also Devil Daggers. A Steam game he played that cost $.99. An arena shooter where you are surrounded by darkness. Aren't we all, though? Gary calls it a POS, I say MASTERPIECE. Who knows? I don't. Finally, Brian, and it's OXEN-FREE (Olly olly). It's got some Secret of Monkey Island in it. Not too bad.

The Tangent - 120: The Future Of 2016

"Two can be as bad as one" Yet again, it's just Brian and Gary sitting at the table this week. It's the first full day of summer and some of us just have to hit the open ocean, even if one is the loneliest number.

Anyway, we talk about games, and the first one up is Wolfenstein, and Gary is still having fun. That's good, because I'm pretty sure that's the point of a game. In the past, anyway. Today, who knows? Then he talks some Overwatch. Somehow this is still happening. Brian also ranked out something in gold. I think. Speaking of Brian, his game this week, Ever Oasis, is a "Brian" game through and through. It's a third-person action RPG where you're building an oasis and all NPC's can be in the party. Neat. Lastly, Stephen corrects the record on the iOS game Beat Stomper. Plus, some Animal Crossing N64 talk. Put it in Japanese.

There's no Drunken News: Game Show Edition this week, again. We instead do a rapid fire of this week's news.

The Tangent - 119: Filthy Nasty Love

Communication Breakdown. Zeppelin had it right all along. There's only two (well, three) this week, as we lose Justin to a vacation. Then again, it's better than being sunburnt.

First up is Gary, and he has Among The Sheep. It's a first-person horror game where you play as a 15 month-year-old child where doors lead to different worlds.  Stephen thinks The Chronicles of Narnia. The rest? I don't know if they ever read it... Moving on, it's more Overwatch talk. Honestly, it was competitive something, but all I wrote down was: BORING. Brian then lets us know that Marvel vs. Capcom is not as good as Injustice. I'm not sure if that was a surprise. However, if you enjoy cheesy writing, you might enjoy this. Lastly, is ARMS. Brian finds that it's a lot of fun. Hard, but a lot of fun. And bright and colorful, but that's what Nintendo has been going for lately.
