- 145: Zelda DLC And Overwatch Winter Wonderland -

We're getting closer and closer to Christmas and the guys are knocking off as many games as they can before their backlog gets even bigger.

Gary is leading off and he's still going through The Evil Within 2. He only plays streaming, which is lucky for us, as we get to witness how many heart attacks he can have in a single sitting. He's also going through Titanfall 2 again because it's only $10 at the moment. Worth it. Then Battlefront. He's still tolerating it just for Darth Maul. I'd say that's fair. And finally, for Gary, since it was just his birthday (30th) he got Horizon. However, he's only two hours in.

Next up is Brian, and he's playing Overwatch's Winter Wonderland. Something about Maze vs. Winston and 5 vs 1. Sounds like it's fun. Breath of the Wild's DLC was just released and Brian got a chance to play that too. It reminds him just why the game was Game of the Year winner. But watch out for spoilers.

Anthony's got Darksiders 2 on his plate. It's free on Playstation Plus. He's very early on in it. What he's not early on in is Freddy Fazbear's Pizza Simulator. The game starts weird with some 8-bit stuff going on, and then switches up from that. It's free to play, so that's always good.

Lastly, Stephen is up. Mario Odyssey is still his go to game. Collecting those moons is a daunting task. What's even more daunting is when you don't leave one area to do it. It's probably worse than the seeds in Breath of the Wild. Probably.

144: Night In The Woods, Super Mario Odyssey, And The Game Awards

Brian's first and he's got Batman: Return to Arkham Remaster Collection. He says the graphics aren't as good as he remembers. Then again, what is? Following that, Night In The Woods, a game you play as a cat coming home. Brian explains it much better than I do. Anthony's up and he explains more of the issues that he's been having with Pokemon Sun and Moon. Then he gets more in-depth about Xenoblade Chronicles 2, which he is enjoying. Lastly, Stephen has completed Super Mario Odyssey, and the end is something else. Really worth it.

143: Xenoblade Chronicles 2, Evil Within 2, And Ruiner

Here we are already in the month of December. It's hard to believe. The gang is all together ready to bring you the games we'd played this week.

First up, Anthony. He's here to give you the lowdown on Xenoblade Chronicles 2. Yeah, you may have heard the reviews online about the game. Some good, some bad. Yet, no review is complete without the Tangent review, and Anthony brings just that. Then he's got a bit more Pokemon Ultra Sun. He beat it and the horse dead, as he still brings up the painful text in the game. Next up, Gary. He's playing The Evil Within 2. And when he's not crapping his pants from the mannequins, he's generally having a good time. Be sure to check him streaming the game over at our Twitch. Then he's on to Ruiner, a top down twin-sticks shooter. Think 80s. Gary's week isn't complete without Sonic All-Star Racing Transformed. The game is a mouth-full and it's very Mario Kart-like. We also have Stephen, and him and Brian talk Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp. Leaf tickets, man, they're a racket. Lastly, Brian hits kindergarten with Super Lucky's Tale. He finds it hard to believe they even released this game. If you have kids the game could be for you.

142: Battlefront II, Microtransactions, And Pocket Camp

Nothing signifies Christmas more than Black Friday, and Gary knows a thing or two about the terrors and madness of that shopping day.

Speaking of Gary, he opens this week after making his return, and talks HOB. He's in love with the game. It's big world has sucked him in. He also played, so you don't have to, Battlefront II, where Brian chips his thoughts in having Redboxed it. The game looks good, but the story leaves something to be desired. Brian finished up Horizon Zero Dawn's DLC. It's the perfect game to play for Christmas, though be on the look out for bear robots. Then Brian and Stephen get into a discussion about Mario Odyssey briefly and then quickly move on to the newly released Animal Crossing Pocket Camp. It's all about the Leaf Tickets. Lastly, Anthony is still going through Pokemon Ultra Sun & Moon. The real horror is the text you still can't skip.

The news this week is bleak. Just black Friday deals taking up the spotlight. But the drunk crew is able to suss up some interesting stories to talk about such as, Loot Box issues, Plants vs Zombies creator controversy, an update to Splatoon, and more.

The Tangent - 141: Super Mario Odyssey Spoilercast

It's just like old times this week. And by old times I mean, before we ever uploaded any podcasts. The original three are here to bring you the games we played this week and the news the only way we know how, drunk.

Anthony opens with a return to a recent classic, Pokemon Ultra Sun AND Ultra Moon. Yes, he picked up both. Not much has changed and that's really for the worse, because the text is still excruciating long winded. However, what he really wants to do is bring all his Pokemon into this game. We'll see how that goes. Brian lets us know that he beat Wolfenstein II and to be frank, he had some issues with the overall game. Bland characters, no interesting plot. You get the gist. I'd listen to hear his whole hot take on the game. He also stepped back into Horizon: Zero Dawn as it received an expansion pack, The Frozen Wind. I don't think Brian can get enough of it. Lastly, the three of us talk Super Mario Odyssey in this spoilerific discussion. Is this game as good as it's made out to be? I'd listen to find out.

In the drunken news it's basically pile on EA this week. And boy, do they deserve it. I'm sure you've heard the news, and if not, we give an excellent timeline of events, in a saga that rivals only that of Star Wars.

The Tangent - 140: Wooden Poles

Anthony opens up this week to talk some Assassin's Creed Origins. Take it from a man who hasn't played the series since Assassin's Creed II, a lot has changed. A lot. It's in Egypt and there are wooden poles. What more do you need? Next up is a group discussion because we're all still playing Super Mario Odyssey. Both Anthony and Brian have beaten it and Stephen fixed some of his controller woes. Now they are both going through the game collecting all 836 Power Moons. Yes, there is that many. Then Brian talks a bit about Wolfenstein II, a game he also finished. He struggles to find the magic of the first. Last up is Gary and he's talking some High Hell.

The Tangent - 139: Reagan Smash

The gang's all here and ready to talk some games. First up is Stephen. He has some brief Super Mario Bros. 3 talk because of a new segment on our YouTube called, 'Autumn Games', so you should go check that out. Then we all get into a discussion of Super Mario Odyssey. The game continues to amaze. Brian and Gary then get into Wolfenstein II, and it's also a game they can't get enough of. Gary also has the game HOB, which we checked out at PAX East 2017. We even got some hats. Lastly, Justin tells us more about South Park: Fractured But Whole. The story is what really makes the game.

Two of us were out this week. Doing what? God only knows. But I can tell you the episode remains just as great as always. We bring in Dixon and boy does he have some things to tell us about Persona 5. Oh, yes he does. Anthony's not missing a beat as he talks more about the Evil Within 2. He's still not scared. Justin gets his hands on the new South Park game, Fractured But Whole. Let's just say, he doesn't have a problem with the difficulty of the game. Gary tells us about Shadow of War. Are Loot Boxes a problem? Not in this game, that's for sure.

The Tangent - 136: Gaelic Jazz

Stephen starts things off and it's, of course, the SNES Classic with Starfox 2. It's different and something he'll have to put more time into. In addition, he played Super Castlevania IV. Actually, he live streamed it on our YouTube channel. So, hey, you should go check that out. After that, it was Anthony and he's got the Evil Within 2 and Cuphead. Let's just say, the Evil Within 2, not scary enough for him. Then again, is anything? The group then launches into a discussion about Cuphead, and something about Dicehead being a pain. Lastly, Brian's got a long list. He finished his backlog by beating Metroid: Samus Returns, Cuphead, and Mario + Rabbits. Now it's on to Wulverblade and Middle Earth: Shadow of War.
