  • EXTENDED PLAY: The 27 Club #1 – Robert Johnson

And now here’s something mostly different but really the same when it comes down to it. It’s the Tape Deck Podcast EXTENDED PLAY! Or the TDP EP for short. These are series of podcast episodes centered around one topic. Here we’ll be recapping the infamous members of the 27 Club, as each episode delves into an exposé of a specific member.

Today’s episode is about the literally legendary Delta blues master, Robert Johnson. While his death in 1938 puts him over 30 years before the creation the club, his contribution to rock music (and music as a whole) is undeniable. But how did his legend get started? And how much do we truly know about the young, enigmatic virtuoso? Have a listen!

  • #13: Synesthesia (This Song Tastes Funny) (feat. Jordan Lowe)

“Oh no, I’ve pissed off Pharrell already!”

Howdy! Today’s guest is Jordan Lowe, the bright cheery bowl of soup that leads Seattle’s Swingset. We talk about synesthesia, or the intermingling of senses is uncommon ways, and how it appears in the music world. There’s also a lot of discussion about food, because it’s a cool connection! Food and music, like peanut butter and jelly! Chocolate and pretzels. Facebook and insane people, amirite? Okay.

And there’s a little of me geeking out, but I’m not that sorry! So there!
