This week, Elementary goes dumpster diving in a pretty solid episode based on a classic video game legend. Then, Star Trek: Enterprise wastes an opportunity in "Vanishing Point," commits war crimes in "Precious Cargo," and does not host a fabulous fashion show in "The Catwalk." Finally, on Mad Men, Pete Campbell is disappointed, everybody watches a lot of television, and Sally waits for an explanation from "The Grown Ups."

There's no Elementary this week, so J. fills up the space babbling about Fargo (the television show) and Fargo (the movie) for a while. Then, we talk Battlestar Galactica and "Home, Pt. 2," "Final Cut," and "Flight of the Phoenix." We wrap things up with Mad Men, as the sledgehammer of subtlety crashes down on Don Draper's head in the fantastic "The Gypsy and the Hobo."

Lazy writing is the bane of our existence this week on the podcast. First, Elementary phones in a jumbled script-by-committee that peaked with its title. Then, Enterprise goes one for three with "The Seventh," "The Communicator," and "Singularity," and J. is outraged at the nerve of the writers of this show not following his imaginary rules. (But, for real, these are some boring episodes.) We end by discussing Mad Men, as Betty doesn't get the fight she wants, Don doesn't have the night he wants, the dog eats Kinsey's homework, and no one really sees the same shade of "The Color Blue."

So, funny story: J. stayed up late and edited this one the day before Thanksgiving, then forgot to actually post the thing. Let's all have a laugh and his retroactively funny gloating about the undefeated New England Patriots. Let's all point at J. and laugh, children. After that, enjoy our conversation about Elementary's weird doppleganger episode, Battlestar Galactica's "Resistance," "The Farm," and "Home (Part 1)," and Mad Men's "Wee Small Hours."

Elementary came back this week, but Robby wasn't reminded by his various apps and subscription services, so we'll have to wait to discuss it next week. While we curse his cost-cutting ways, we turn our attention the start of Battlestar Galactica's second season, as things go from worse to even worse in "Scattered," "Valley of Darkness," and "Fragged." Then, on Mad Men, Don pouts and Peggy gets some in the highly symbolic "Seven Twenty Three." Get your fainting couches ready!

We kick off the second season of Enterprise by figuring out how they wrapped up that cliffhanger in "Shockwave, Part II" (spoiler: at least it's better than "Time's Arrow II"!), then watch an odd flashback story in "Carbon Creek" and J. marks out for the Romulans in "Minefield." Then, we discuss a very famous Mad Men episode, in which a "Guy Walks into an Advertising Agency," and he does not walk out. He'll never golf again!

Robby's back from bringing blue meth to South America (or whatever), so we fire up the old podcasting equipment and pick up like we never left off. After discussing the Chicago Cubs for a while (shame about those first games of the NLCS, fellas), the talk moves to the end of Battlestar Galactica's first season, with the two parts of "Kobol's Last Gleaming." Everything goes to crap for the ragtag fleet in a hurry, which is kind of amazing when you think about how screwed they already were. Then, Mad Men gets kind of dreamlike and boring as Don has drinks in the waiting room, Betty tries to have a baby while fighting with the ghost of Medger Evers, and the writers get lost in "The Fog."

Robby has fled the country, so that leaves us without a podcast to record. But never fear -- J. combs through the archives and finds a few old segments to repurpose. That's right, it's a clip show! Just pretend we're a sitcom from the '80s trying to cheat on our budget. Ah, I remember these episodes like they were just yesterday....
