Two hours and twenty-five minutes. Strap in, kids.
First, we celebrate the glorious return of Elementary, with its third season premiere, "Enough Nemesis to Go Around." Between the magic bullet magnets and sidewalk baton dueling, we reaffirm just how much we love this show.
Then, we move on to a glorious banquet of Deep Space Nine episodes. To wit:
- "In the Pale Moonlight" - Perhaps the most legendary episode of the entire series -- and J.'s favorite -- sparks an impassioned discussion of its true merits. Is the confessional structure a showy distraction, or is it key to the episode's impact?
"His Way" - Never mind that shit, it's VIC FONTAINE, Y'ALL. There are a hundred reasons why this episode shouldn't work. And yet..."The Reckoning" - Is this a Star Trek episode, or a mural painted on the side of someone's van in 1978?And finally, we discuss the Mad Men episode "Shoot" with what little voice we have left. Stop the presses, Pete Campbell is a dick.
Next week, we finish the first season of Veronica Mars, with "M.A.D.," "A Trip to the Dentist," and "Leave It to Beaver," plus the Mad Men episode "Long Weekend." And Elementary, too. We better stock up on lozenges.
