Season 16, Episode 31 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Wednesday morning episode, Alex Kozora and I get right to talking about the Pittsburgh Steelers as they enter their bye week following their win in Dublin, Ireland this past Sunday against the Minnesota Vikings.

The Steelers lost rookie S Sebastian Castro off their practice squad to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Tuesday, so we make sure to hit that news at the beginning of this show. We also go over the Steelers' list of injured players that now includes WR Calvin Austin III and CB Jalen Ramsey and how the team might compensate for not having those two players right after the bye week.

Several members of the Steelers' coaching staff met with the media on Tuesday, so Alex and I pick out and discuss the meaningful talking points that came out of those several sessions. We talk about the overarching questions from Tuesday that centered around the offense’s yards after the catch totals and short passing game through the first four games of the 2025 regular season.

Alex and I look at several passing game stats related to the Steelers' offense through four games and how they share some similarities with what the Kansas City Chiefs did in 2024 on that side of the football. Is a short passing game with a high percentage of YAC sustainable for the Steelers' offense moving forward and especially with that unit only registering 10 explosive plays through four games? We discuss all of that in the middle of this show.

We move on to discuss how QB Aaron Rodgers is fitting in with the Steelers so far and how he has handled himself as the team enters their bye week. We also discuss the role and health of rookie QB Will Howard while he is on the Reserve/Injured list.

With the All-22 tape from the Week 4 game against the Vikings now fully digested, Alex and I both deliver our additional thoughts from the Steelers' Sunday win in Ireland when it comes to the offense, defense, and special teams. We take a hard look at the Steelers' personnel usage, offensive running scheme, and much more in this segment. We also go over what we viewed as positives and negatives on the defensive side of the football on Sunday against the Vikings.

Alex and I make sure to hit on the point of the Steelers being atop the AFC North through Week 4 and how the other three teams in the division have a much bleaker outlook for the near future due to injuries and other situations. We make sure to hit on the quarterback switch the Cleveland Browns are making this week.

Season 16, Episode 30 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Monday morning episode, Alex Kozora and I get right to giving our overarching thoughts on the Pittsburgh Steelers' Week 4 Sunday win against the Minnesota Vikings and how impressive and big of a victory it was.

Steelers backup QB Skylar Thompson was unfortunately included in the Sunday pregame headlines due to him being mugged in Ireland over the weekend, so we make sure to bring listeners up to date on what is known so far about that incident.

As part of our Monday Housekeeping segment, which is brought to you by Touring Plans, Alex and I go over the Steelers' Week 4 inactive list, the practice squad elevation made on Saturday, and the players who sustained injuries in their 24-21 win against the Vikings.

As usual, Alex and I recap the Steelers' win against the Vikings. We start on the offensive side of the football and talk about several individual player performances, the big play to WR DK Metcalf for a touchdown, the improved running game, and how QB Aaron Rodgers continues to rely on a short passing game and tons of YAC.

Alex and I make sure to dissect the key fourth down and play calls late in the win over the Vikings and how success in those two situations would have made for a more complete win in Ireland on Sunday. As part of our recap of the Steelers' offense from their Week 4 game, Alex and I mix in several key stats and snap counts concerning that unit. We talk about the heavy usage of RB Kenneth Gainwell, TE Darnell Washington, and OL Spencer Anderson, and how all three played well and a big part in the win.

The Steelers recorded two takeaways and six sacks on Sunday. We go over the solid performances of several Steelers' defensive players on Sunday and we make sure to highlight the big play that ILB Payton Wilson made late in the game that included him chasing down Vikings WR Jordan Addison after a blown coverage. We discuss pressure opportunities, the third down play of defense and much more.

The Steelers' special teams units looked much better overall once again on Sunday against the Vikings, so we make sure to recap that phase of the Week 4 game as well. We spend a little time discussing the blocked field goal attempt by K Chris Boswell in the first half as part of that.

After fully recapping the Steelers' road win against the Vikings, Alex and I discuss the Steelers as the head into their bye week. We also make sure to pass along the Monday morning trade that the Cleveland Browns have finalized.

Season 16, Episode 29 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Friday morning episode, Alex Kozora and I get right to talking about the Thursday night game between the Arizona Cardinals and the Seattle Seahawks and how the new dynamic kickoff rules played into the ending of it. We discuss whether we like the new kickoff rules so far this season.

Alex and I move on to discuss the Steelers' injury report heading into Friday. We talk about Steelers CB Joey Porter Jr. and S DeShon Elliott trying to return this week from their respective injuries. We also discuss OLB Alex Highsmith not making the trip to Ireland because of his ankle injury.

Alex and I welcome Ben Goessling of the Star Tribune back to the show, and he helps us get started with a preview of the Steelers-Vikings game. Goessling has covered the Vikings for many seasons, and nobody knows that team better than he does. We get his thoughts on several things related to Sunday’s game at Croke Park in Dublin, Ireland, where he is currently stationed. At the end of our talk with Goessling, he gives us his score prediction for the Steelers-Vikings game.
