A poor second half against Oxford after City failed to put away chances, and then a meek performance against a tired WBA spelt trouble heading into the International Break, but as we sit here Walter is still in charge as City head into a clash against another club with a manager under pressure at Luton.
The Tigers Down Under look back on the second half of our full season under Nigel Adkins. When Ehab confirmed we would make a push for the play offs and look to make signings in January to support this, more was perhaps hoped for with the second half of the season than eventuated..
Results and performances have soured quickly at City, and the second half against Portsmouth became increasingly toxic, as City failed to beat the bottom side in the Championship. Is Walter on borrowed time or can he still turn things around? Two teams in Oxford and WBA with no wins in their last five could well be the final chances for him.
One positive draw and one disappointing one as City held Burnley to a 1-1 draw at the MKM before failing to overcome Derby. On another week it could have been two victories, but instead City had to settle for two points. Portsmouth loom as an almost must-win this weekend.
City returned from the International Break with a disappointing defeat to Sunderland. Disappointing, at least, due to the fact City looked markedly better against the table toppers, but were undone yet again from a short corner routine, this time Sunderland ably assisted by the referees body check. Burnley are City's mid-week opponent before newly promoted Derby on the weekend.
Norwich brought their scoring boots to the clash just before the International Break as all the red flags in City's previous performances came home to roost, with City shipping 4 goals to a dominant Norwich side. Now just the small matter of the table topping Sunderland side to deal with.
The Tigers Down Under look back on the first half of our full season under Nigel Adkins. While it started in quite rocky fashion, it was perhaps a good lesson in not having an itchy trigger finger when it comes to managerial decisions as Adkins surged us towards the play offs.
Well that was a bit fun, wasn't it? 4-1 win over Cardiff, followed by 3-1 win against QPR capped off a brilliant 10 days in which City's form well and truly reversed. A clash with Norwich to suddenly get a look into the Top 6 looms before the International Break.
A first win of the season eases some of the pressure on Tim Walter.. with the second half providing a blueprint for how we need to play/line up. A. clash with managerless Cardiff City who sit bottom of the table should allow for City to make it two in two, before an out of form QPR mid-week.
A meek 2-0 surrender to Sheffield United underlined the increasing pressure Tim Walter finds himself under as City manager, and a trip to managerless Stoke City must simply be a three point affair for the mood to shift at the MKM.
