Marshall Herff Applewhite and Bonnie Lu Nettles are two normal, middle-aged Texans… who happen to be huge advocates for alien abduction. They say it’s the only way to reach heaven's gate. Even in 1976, it seems crazy that anyone would believe them – especially since their doctrine forbids sex and relationships–and yet hundreds do. And with the two of them at the helm of this organization, two decades later, many will take the ultimate leap of faith.
