  • TTIM 11 – Pursuing Your Dreams With Barbara Weibel

What an amazing story is that of Barbara Weibel! She had an established career in real estate to which photography and travel often took a back seat. Then one day, thanks to a health scare, she resolved to live the nomadic life that she had always wanted to live and to pursue her passion to photograph the world and to write about travel.

I hope you will listen to my interview with her and be as inspired as I was. If you were, then please consider leaving us a review on iTunes, as this helps us a lot to keep doing what we love, that is sharing with you the stories from the best travel photographers in the world.

  • TTIM 8 – Urban Travel Photography With Valérie Jardin

I was thinking of what kind of introduction I could write for this week's guest on my podcast, Valérie Jardin, but when I read her own words on her website, I thought that nothing I could write could match those, so here they are:

"Photography changed my life forever. The day I picked up a camera I became a storyteller. Photography is my passion, my obsession, my addiction. I live and breathe in pixels!

My passion for humankind drives me to shoot mostly street photography. I thrive on searching and waiting for just the right moment when a story unfolds in a single frame. I also look to shoot the extraordinary in the ordinary - it's in the details. I've learned to see when I look, to find beauty everywhere. Although I love wandering the streets of large cities, the natural world around me always amazes me. I feel so privileged to see it all through my lens.

I am proud that my work has hung in galleries in the United States and in Europe, but I feel pure joy when teaching this beautiful craft! Teaching is my opportunity to share my passion and skills with others while leading photography workshops. I also give talks and presentations at photo conferences.

I also share my passion for photography by writing articles. I'm a writer for Australian-based dPS magazine and others which are linked in the publication page of this site.

I am the host of my very own street photography weekly podcastStreet Focus and I have to honor to be an official X Photographer for Fujifilm USA.

Gear? It's just me, my creative vision and my Fuji X100T.

Born and raised in France, I currently live in Minnesota, USA.

    Living the dream..."

  • TTIM 7 – Finding Success With Matt Dutile

Matt Dutile is a New York City based travel and lifestyle photographer. He grew up in a small New Hampshire farm town before venturing west seeking buried treasure, as most explorers do.

I recently had the opportunity and the pleasure of interviewing Matt and tried to pick his brain with respect to finding an audience and customers as a travel photographer. We also talked about his new book: Connected: The Abbreviated Adventures of a Self-Described Idealist, about taking photos of people belonging to different cultures, and too many other topics to list here. You will just have to listen!

  • TTIM 6 – Rick Sammon

I can't say how thrilled I am to have Rick Sammon as my guest on this episode of the Traveling Image Makers Podcast. For those few who don't know Rick, he's one of the most active and engaging photographers on the planet, author of 36 books and countless tutorials, host of a popular podcast, workshop leader and traveler.

In his own words, "he is a man on a mission – a mission to make digital photography fun, creative, exciting and rewarding for others."

It was also a great pleasure to discover that, in person, Rick is a warm-hearted gentleman with lots to give. You will undoubtedly agree with me, if you listen to our talk.

  • TTIM 4 – The Human Element with Mitchell Kanashkevich

A few years ago, while I was researching locations for a trip to Indonesia, I happened to find Mitchell Kanashkevich's book Journey Through Java and, having discovered Mitchell's work, I've been a fan ever since. So it is a great honor for me to be able to feature him in the latest episode of my podcast.

We chatted about commercial success, interacting with people, and of course Java. Enjoy and share!

Originally from Santa Barbara, California, he recently moved to the mountain town of Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany. Obsessed with the north, Cody travels as frequently as possible to arctic Scandinavia, with Norway’s Lofoten Islands being his favorite destination over the last decade.

  • TTIM 2 – Robin Yong and the Carnival of Venice

My guest for the second episode of The Traveling Image Makers Podcast is Robin Yong.

Robin Yong is a new travel photographer. He also has a full time job as a doctor specialising in travel medicine. He spends most of his time in Australia and Singapore, with frequent travels to Cambodia, Japan, France and Italy. He particularly likes to do portraits, especially of people in their traditional costumes. His favourite subjects are the Venetian masked models, the Indochinese Apsara dancers and the very elusive Japanese geishas and maikos – all very mysterious people to most photographers. He then turns these photos into picture books and gives them to the models, much to their delight although these books are also available for sale online at Amazon, Blurb and Partridge bookstores.
