I like to think that I make medical decisions based on science.  However, science only advances when we try things that are new and unproven.  If the last few years has illustrated anything, it is that science is never settled.

I recently had a discussion with a patient about topical vitamin A.  She was under the impression that you have a limited number of skin cells, and that Vitamin A caused them to "wear out" and would cause thin skin with time.
