In this episode of The Trophy Life, my wife and I take a deep dive into my past as a logging business owner in Wisconsin and the immense pressures that came with it. From industry downturns, financial strain, and the lasting effects of COVID, to the physical and mental toll of staying relevant in an unforgiving industry—it was a career that tested me in every way.
But sometimes, stepping away is the only way forward. I share the pivotal moment when I decided to sell my equipment and turn a lifelong passion for photography and filmmaking into a thriving career in the outdoor industry. We also dive into personal struggles—marital challenges, self-growth, accountability, and learning to chase my dreams, not someone else’s.
If you’ve ever felt stuck in a life that wasn’t truly yours, this episode is for you. 🎙️

In this episode, we dive deep into taking control of your life and focusing on what truly matters within your immediate circle. We discuss the challenges of raising children in today’s world, the influence of outside factors, and why homeschooling is a serious consideration for our daughter’s early years.
Brittany opens up about her personal battle with bullying throughout school and the emotional scars it left behind. She shares her struggles in trusting other women—until the right ones came into her life and completely changed her perspective. Now, in her early 30s, she’s built strong, meaningful friendships with incredible women like Jamie, Whitney, Dori, and Sarah, and she attributes much of this growth to her love for the outdoors and the people it has brought into her life.
She also touches on a traumatic childhood brain injury that played a role in the bullying she endured, but also how it shaped her deep connection to nature—where she finds true peace. This leads us into a larger conversation on personal growth, self-awareness, and accountability—acknowledging bad habits, negative attitudes, and emotional hurdles while working to become better as spouses, parents, friends, and business owners.
We reflect on the importance of setting our children up for success, leading by example, and teaching them resilience, hard work, and a positive mindset. Brittany wraps up by sharing how stepping away from her longtime passion, barrel racing, made room for even greater things in her life—more time in the outdoors, deep friendships, a flourishing business, and most importantly, family.
This episode is raw, real, and full of perspective on growth, friendship, parenting, and overcoming adversity. We hope you enjoy it!

Episode 9 is in the books, and we were all over the board! The joys of podcasting and embracing the conversations. We start out by talking about some exciting news, which is we both were guests on a podcast! Brittany got to chat all about life, the outdoors, hunting and fishing on the "She Goes Beyond" podcast. Jeremy also then got to appear as a guest with the guys from M42 Adventures that will release in a couple weeks, talking about life, and his journey in business, marriage and the outdoors as well with some cool opportunities to follow with the guys there. The conversation flows through the episode with plenty of fishing talk, work and beyond but eventually leads to getting a bit deeper about life and some plans to continue to get more vulnerable and personable as we get more and more comfortable with our new platform and enjoyment of podcasting. Stay tuned for some fun and exciting things coming ahead, and potentially.....a little more of an organized way of podcasting to come....potentially ;)
