  • Diddy Blasts The Feds Request To Put Dr. Dawn Hughes Back On The Stand (Part 1) (6/12/25)
In this letter to Judge Subramanian in United States v. Combs, the defense opposes the government’s request to recall expert witness Dr. Dawn Hughes for a second appearance during its case-in-chief. The defense argues that it relied on the Court’s original framework—reinforced in both the opening jury instructions and pretrial rulings—that each witness would testify only once. They further contend that recalling Dr. Hughes after her cross-examination would be unfair and prejudicial, as the defense structured its questioning with the understanding that it would be their sole opportunity to challenge her testimony during the government’s presentation of its case.

The letter also raises concern about the signal it would send to the jury, suggesting that the Court is endorsing the government’s effort to rehabilitate a witness whose methodology and credibility were already subjected to extensive scrutiny. The defense emphasizes that it cannot repeat its prior cross-examination, nor should it be expected to. They argue that such a move is highly irregular and risks altering the fairness of the proceedings. The letter urges the Court to deny the government’s request and preserve the integrity of its prior rulings regarding the scope and structure of Dr. Hughes’s testimony.

  • Jay-Z Responds To Jane Doe's Accusations (Part 4)
In the case 24-cv-07975-AT, Defendant Shawn Carter (also known as Jay-Z) has filed a motion opposing the plaintiff's request to proceed anonymously under Federal Rule of Civil Procedure 10(a), which generally requires parties to be named in public court proceedings. Carter argues that the plaintiff's anonymity could prejudice his ability to defend against the claims and that public interest and transparency in judicial proceedings favor disclosure of the plaintiff's identity. Alternatively, he seeks dismissal of the complaint under Federal Rule of Civil Procedure 12(b)(1), asserting that the court lacks subject matter jurisdiction over the claims presented.

Carter's motion emphasizes that anonymity in litigation is an extraordinary measure requiring strong justification, which he claims the plaintiff has failed to provide. Furthermore, he questions the legal sufficiency of the plaintiff's claims and argues that the court should dismiss the case if it determines it lacks jurisdiction or if the plaintiff does not adequately establish the grounds for proceeding anonymously. The motion seeks to resolve these procedural and jurisdictional issues before addressing the substantive merits of the complaint.
