In this not-so-mini-Minisode, there’s four things the Gomers want to tell you about:
1. Anthony’s concerto.
2. Their love/hate for the new Harry Potter movie.
3. Some stories from the Gomer Thanksgiving Challenge.
4. The new jingle.
Enjoy, and Happy Running!
Oh, p.s. If you want to read Steven’s scathing, spoiler-ridden review of HP7 (the book) that he blogged 3 1/2 years ago, you can find it here. Sorry about the lack of pictures, the internet disintegrates over time, apparently. Happy blogging!
Now that the Gomers are fully into their 3rd season, guess what? There’s more distractions, injuries, and weird sicknesses than you can shake a bassoon at. But that’s not stopping them – in fact, they’ve both been having pretty great weeks – not counting the blood in the urine, of course.
Plus all your favorite sections: Week in Review, Listener Feedback, a new Monday Survey, and two new Songs to Run To…AND a brand new section, Gomer Gear! Men, need a product that will keep EVERYTHING warm in the bitter cold while running? You may want to take a listen. Hope you like the episode, Happy Running!
This week’s Monday Survey: What are you most thankful for when it comes to your running journey?
Looks like the Gomers just couldn’t bear the thought of recording every other week, so here’s a Minisode to keep you going until Episode 2. There’s some fun stuff in here, but the main purpose of this little installment is to issue a challenge. Ready? Here it is:
We challenge you to sign up, TODAY, to walk or run a 5k or 10k this Thanksgiving morning!
Turkey Trots can be the best time to run a first race, or get going again if it’s been awhile. Remember – the Gomers were just two regular guys who couldn’t run a block when they started. Let this be your inciting incident to get out there, start walking or running, and get in shape!
Do it. Happy Running!
The Gomers are back for their Third Season, TGRAM: The Sub Five Strive, and they’re trying to get used to the changes. More training runs, more commitment, more effort, more discomfort – it’s a wonder they have time to record podcasts! But they do, fair Nation, and it’s all for you.
You’ll notice an unusual amount of running talk, but it’s probably just because of all the changes. Don’t worry, there’s still the tangents one expects from the Gomers, including fall movie chat, Halloween candy reminiscences, celebrity impressions, and fortune cookie readings.
Plus all the regular sections: Week in Review, Listener Feedback, Gomer’s Tips, Songs to Run to, and an all-new section: True or Faux? Hope you enjoy it, and Happy Running!
This week’s Monday Survey: Do you consider yourself a novice runner or a veteran? Why?
Can you feel it? It’s Season 3, right around the corner. But the dudes couldn’t help recording a little teaser before the season starts tomorrow…you know, for the fans. Along with seeing the new logo on your iPod for the first time.
Here’s what you can expect from this mini-sode:
1. The official unveiling of the Season 3 title
2. A reminder of our goals for the season
3. Anthony playing movie-soundtrack-excerpts on the bassoon…by ear!
4. Meredith Vieira’s and Al Roker’s NYC marathon times
5. Mental images of Steven pretending to be a Chilean miner
6. The all-new, super-short jingle!
See you tomorrow with Season 3! Happy running!
Surprise! Things with the Gomers have changed already. Listen to this, the final episode of Season 2.5, for the details of what exactly Season 3: Two Gomers Strike Back (working title) will entail.
Also, plenty of fall TV impressions, folklore remembrances, babysitter pricing discussions, and yes, running talk! Everything you’ve come to expect in an episode of the Gomers.
And all the regulars – Week in Review, Gomers Tips, Listener Feedback, and two (or more) new Songs to Run To. See you in November, Happy Running!
This week’s Monday Survey: We’re down to two names for the new season:
1. Two Gomers Run a (Faster) Marathon
or
2. Two Gomers Run a Marathon: The Sub-5 Strive
Let us know which you like best!
In this, the second episode of the Gomers’ second-in-a-half season, things are starting to ramp up. Both Gomers had a couple great weeks of training and have stories to tell. Also, they each ran a 10k race – or did they? You’ll just have to listen to find out.
Also, it’s that time of year again, and the guys give their traditional annual Fall TV preview. Listen rapturously as Steven and Anthony talk at length about what returning shows they’ve been pining for, what new shows they’re (tentatively) excited about, and which shows they’re predicting will fail.
It’s all here – Week in Review, Gomers Tip of the Week, Running in the Media, Listener Feedback, and a new Monday Survey. Have a great week, and Happy Running!
With Season 3 in the works and not starting until late October, the Gomers didn’t want to leave the Nation hanging. So here it is: Season 2.5, Episode A! And could it be everything you wanted, and more? You be the judge as the guys debrief last month’s 1st Annual Gomer Group Run, catch you up on what’s been happening in their lives and on their runs since the marathon, and review the summer in TV and movies. Spoiler: They both cried at a 3D movie, and it wasn’t Avatar.
So there you go: Group Run in Review, Two Months in Review, Running in the (Summer) Media, Listener Feedback, and a brand new Monday Survey. It’s good to be back, and Happy Running!
This Week’s Monday Survey: First, what should we name Season 3? We’re looking for something clear, with an indication of what we’re doing right there in the title. Second, what impressions/ accents do you want to hear the Gomers do now that we have retired Rachael Ray…
Just a quick reminder to join us in one week, July 24th, for our 1st Annual “How’s It Goin'” Gomer 5k Group Run! If you can make it, please head over to our Facebook event RIGHT NOW and let us know!
All the details are there, so click here ASAP so we know how many to expect!
Mr.s and Mrs.s Gomers will all be in attendance!
Check out this short little podcast to hear some details, or just to get the Gomer fix you might be needing. Happy Running!
Season 2 of the Two Gomers is in the books, and everything feels kind of back-to-the-basics. Join Steven and Anthony one last time as they review their weeks, offer up some running tips, discuss songs they like to run to, and read questions from fans. Oh, and they also go off on, like, a hundred different tangents.
Make sure you stick around till the end for details on our 1st Annual “How’s It Goin'” 5k Gomer Group Run, and a challenge that will hopefully carry you through until Season 3.
Thanks, everyone, for an awesome season. Stay in touch, and Happy Running!
