  • Week 13 Review

This week we talk through Exodus 34-40, Luke 21:20-22:53, Psalms 105. Chris Case and Sarah Pascual wrap up Exodus and move into Luke’s account of Jesus’ final hours. Exodus closes with God renewing His covenant despite Israel’s failure, revealing Himself as gracious, merciful, and jealous for His people’s worship. The tabernacle is built as commanded, the priesthood established, and the glory of the Lord fills the tent—God’s presence dwelling with His people. In Luke, Jesus shares the Passover meal, redefines it as the new covenant in His body and blood, and teaches that true greatness comes through servanthood. The narrative moves into Gethsemane, betrayal, and arrest as Jesus prepares to drink the cup of God’s wrath. This episode emphasizes covenant faithfulness, God’s holiness, Jesus as the final Passover Lamb, and the call for believers to watch, pray, and endure.

  • Week 12 Review

This week we talk through Exodus 24-33, Luke 19:28-21:19, Psalms 80 and 81. Chris Case and Sarah Pascual trace Exodus 24–34 and Luke 19–21. Exodus opens with Israel “signing” the covenant by blood, then moves into a big-picture tour of the tabernacle as a micro-creation: six divine speeches plus Sabbath, an east-to-west approach (bronze altar → laver → lampstand → bread of the Presence → incense altar → veil → Ark/mercy seat), priestly garments and consecration, Spirit-gifted artisans (Bezalel and Oholiab), and the Sabbath as sanctification. The narrative turns with the golden calf—an Eden-like fall—followed by Moses’ intercession (“If your presence doesn’t go with us, don’t send us”), God’s mercy, and renewed movement toward God’s dwelling with His people.
In Luke, Jesus’ triumphal entry fulfills Zechariah’s king on a donkey, yet He weeps over Jerusalem’s misplaced hopes. He clears the temple to restore a “house of prayer for all nations,” outwits traps on authority, taxes, and resurrection, warns against status-seeking leaders, commends the widow’s offering, and foretells the temple’s fall. Psalms 81 and 80 underline grace-driven obedience and Israel as God’s vineyard.

  • Week 11 Review

In this week’s See Your Bible podcast, Chris Case and Sarah Pascual guide listeners through Israel’s journey to Mount Sinai in Exodus. They explore powerful gospel connections—like Jesus as the rock who was struck to bring living water—and unpack the first battle with Amalek where God is Israel’s true banner. The episode highlights Jethro’s wisdom in shared leadership, Israel’s calling as a kingdom of priests, and the giving of the Ten Commandments. Chris and Sarah also discuss laws about justice, Sabbath, slavery, and social protections, while pointing forward to Christ’s fulfillment. The New Testament readings in Luke remind us of the humility God desires, the persistence of prayer, the dangers of wealth, and the joy of salvation in stories like the persistent widow, the rich young ruler, and Zacchaeus. The psalms reinforce God’s mercy, justice, and steadfast love, calling us to worship and trust Him fully. This week we talk through Exodus 17-23, Luke 17:20-19:27, Psalm 97, 103, and 123.

  • Week 10 Review

Plagues 8–10 descend into darkness; the firstborn judgment leads to Passover and Israel’s Exodus. In Luke 15–17, Jesus tells of the lost sheep/coin/son, commends shrewd planning for the kingdom, exposes love of money, warns through the rich man & Lazarus, calls for rebuke + radical forgiveness, humble service, mustard-seed faith, and heals ten lepers. This week we talk through Exodus 10-16, Luke 15:1-17:19, Psalm 72 and Psalm 124.

  • Week 6 Review

Jacob limps back toward Esau, wrestles with God, and is renamed Israel—but his messy choices keep rippling out (Dinah’s tragedy, uneven faith, and uneasy truces). We pivot to Joseph: favored teen, unwise dream-teller, sold into slavery, yet “the Lord was with him” in Potiphar’s house. In Luke 9–10, Peter confesses Jesus as the Christ, the Transfiguration unveils His glory, and Jesus calls disciples to take up their cross. Rejection, humility, and mission follow as He sets His face toward Jerusalem, sends out the 72, pronounces woes on unrepentant towns, and reminds us the greatest miracle is that our names are written in heaven. This week we talk through Genesis 32-39, Luke 9:18-10:20, Psalm 94, and Psalm 89:38-52.

  • Week 5 Review

Chris Case and Sarah Pascual dive into Jacob’s messy middle: stolen blessing, the Bethel ladder, Leah & Rachel, baby wars, striped goats, and a tense break with Laban (plus those stolen household idols). They trace God’s sovereign thread through flawed people. In Luke, they contrast a forgiven “woman of the city” with a cautious Pharisee, spotlight the women funding Jesus’ ministry, unpack the Parable of the Sower and lamp, and follow Jesus across the lake to calm a storm, free the Gerasene demoniac, heal a bleeding woman, raise Jairus’s daughter, send the Twelve, and feed 5,000. The through-line: the kingdom breaks in among the humble, and God provides more than enough. This week we talk through Genesis 27-31:55, Luke 7:36-9:17, and Psalm 78.

They explore Isaac’s birth, the sacrifice of Isaac, Sarah’s death, and the lives of Jacob and Esau. Along the way, they highlight God’s covenant promises, the surprising choice of Jacob, and what faith looks like in the patriarchs’ stories. In Luke, they unpack Jesus’ call of the Twelve, the Sermon on the Plain, loving enemies, judging rightly, and the faith of the Roman centurion. The episode points to God’s faithfulness and the upside-down kingdom of Jesus. This week we talk through Genesis 21-26, Luke 6:12-7:35, and Psalm 97.
