The Ubuntu Urban Farm at Klipspruit Wes Secondary School in Klipspruit southwest of Johannesburg, bordering Soweto, launched its first Market day on Saturday 21 June just five months after inception. It is an initiative led by Ubuntu Community Development & Empowerment supported by the Non Profit organization Go Green Go Clean from Eldorado Park and Barloworld Empowerment Foundation. The aim of this initiative is to provide a reliable source of fresh produce for the school and the community. The Ubuntu Farm states that it promotes organic sustainable food systems including hands-on educational experiences for the learners and the community of Klipspruit West.
