Because the extraterrestrial reality has not been acknowledged by world governments, children who encounter aliens or UFOs - or are alien abductees - find themselves confused, ridiculed, and/or disbelieved. The derogatory effect alien encounters have on children is immeasurable, and the continuing coverup only makes matters worse for them.
