In E 97 I try to tackle the Ukraine crisis from a few angles, personal stories, reflections on visiting both countries having spent a lot of time in Eastern Europe, the experiences, history, people and culture. Trying to understand Putin's motivations, from the fall of the Soviet Union through to the current crisis. Some dark dark Ukranian history and the region in general. Was the West naive in believing this was never going to happen? low energy costs, oligarchs, China, patriots, nazis, pipelines, once KGB always KGB and why are some people calling the coverage of the crisis racist among many many other random thoughts......this is a dark one.....get stuck in
