Most people think it is the adults teaching the kids how to live a great life but the opposite is also very true! 

I have spent the last week with my 10 month old nephew, Grayson, and he has certainly taught me many lessons in living a great life.

In this podcast, I share some of my favorite stories from the few days I have spent with him. These stories are great reminders on how to really enjoy life.

There is nothing more powerful in your life than your team.

As Jim Rohn and many others have said, "You are the average of the 5 people you spend the most time with."

This includes your friends, family, and in regards to your business, your team. 

The big question is "How do you hire the right people?" 

The short answer is you have create a standard for your business and you have to ask the right questions. You must be crystal clear on what and who you are looking for and ask the right questions to bring out what you are looking for in the potential staff member.

And always remember, fire fast and hire slow.

One of my favorite business and leadership books of all time is Good to Great by Jim Collins. The first line of the book is "Good is the enemy of great." Brilliant.

There are many good companies out there in the world. There are many people living good lives as well. 

But there are very few people living GREAT lives.

The Hedgehog Concept is a great way to determine what you should focus on and what will create the greatest impact in your business and in your life.

I had one of the most amazing dining experiences I have ever had last night. 

During the evening, I ran into one of the family members of the restaurant, Alberto, in the wine cellar and he shared with me the 3 keys to running a successful restaurant.

The restaurant is called Ristorante Da Valentino which is a family owned and operated Italian restaurant in Singapore. Everything about this place was extraordinary. In a world of failing restaurants, this place has been wildly successful for many years, and I can certainly see why. 

These 3 things can be applied to any business and I discuss them on the show today.

There is a great show called The Profit with Marcus Lemonis. The star Marcus Lemonis is a very successful entrepreneur who has built massively successful companies. On the show, he visits struggling companies to see about creating a strategic partnership. He comes in to strike up a deal where he buys in as a partner and begins to turn these companies around.

It is extraordinary to see the transformations in a short period of time. The show itself is fascinating and captivating but I don't watch it just for its entertainment value. I mostly watch it to learn.

Every transformation is based around what Marcus calls his 3 P’s - people, process, and product. That’s it. It is that simple. Sure, there are complexities to master each of them but the ability to focus on the MAIN thing is paramount in creating success.

Dr. Rick Markson asked me one question that changed my life back in 2010. (*Hint* - We talk about it in the interview.)

Rick shows us that we can build an extraordinary life no matter what our circumstances have been. Rick’s parents were divorced when he was a child, his mom passed away from cancer when he was a teenager, and his wife was diagnosed with cancer about 6 years ago.

Through all of these challenges and more, he has built a thriving chiropractic clinic, a coaching company helping hundreds of people design and manifest the life of their dreams, and at the same time has been a loving and committed father, husband, son, and friend.

I am beyond proud to call him one of my mentors and members at the table of my virtual board of trustees. We dig deep in this episode and I know you will love this one!

I once heard Tony Robbins ask a question to an audience, “How many people like surprises?”

Many hands in the group went up. He replied that was complete BS. I was confused for a moment until he clarified.
