This week, the Fellas start off with our AskReddit section and move on to discuss the Toronto Raptors and their recent success, Drake and his contributions to the Raptors and the MLSE amongst other topics. We cover a wide variety of topics and get back in to the groove after our last week off!

This week, the fellas brought on our first ever guest and dear friend, Damian. We start our episode with the AskReddit segment and move on to discuss various conspiracies in depth. We cover 9/11, Operation Northwoods, Sentient Robots and parallel universes. Tune in to listen to the boys contemplate their existences!

The Fellas this week discuss the intense matches leading up to the Champions League Finals, the Decriminalization of Magic Mushrooms in Denver and the Changes to Instagram in Canada regarding the likes being hidden from users. We open our episode with our AskReddit discussion and cover a wide variety of topics such as Vaping, marijuana, salvia and magic mushroom trips and young adventures.

This week, the fellas open with our AskReddit section and move on to our discussion of the potential decline of Netflix, the hype surrounding the Avengers: End Game and talk about some of our predictions for the future regarding climate change, evolution and humanity. We also briefly discuss an update on Chair Girl and her newest shenanigans, Anime, trees in Ontario and Game of Thrones.

John Candy is at the centre of our conversation in the first episode of our new series. Great Canadians is the show where we select a famous person from Canada and discuss their lives, achievements, and global impact. We aim to produce short and digestible content that will be better suited to those who prefer not to listen to our long-form episodes in the normal show.

In the first episode, we give a brief biography of John Candy’s life and career. Born in Newmarket in the ‘50s, Candy had a fruitful and productive career that spanned over twenty years. He was part of over 45 Hollywood films and television shows from the late ‘70s to early ‘90s. Sadly, Candy passed away as the result of a heart attack in 1994, at the young age of 43.

Today, his legacy lives on, and we discuss our experiences with the media he has left behind for the world. We also get into our concept of the accent meter, which will be a recurring bit in all of our episodes of Great Canadians. The accent meter is our assessment of exactly how ‘Canadian’ the accent of our selected person is.

As this is the first episode of a new venture for us at The Unfinished Basement Podcast, we would love to hear some feedback on this new direction that we are taking with the podcast. Great Canadians is not replacing our show, it is going to be our second upload of the week. We plan to be more loose and free-flowing in future episodes, and we hope that you enjoy this first episode!
