We discuss the lesson our Jewish calendar teaches us by placing Ellul as the month before Rosh Hashana, how we can use that lesson every day in our own lives, and how that lesson is expressed in the prayer we add during this season - L'Dovid Hashem Ori. We discuss blowing the Shofar during Ellul as the roar of a lion - and what that should evoke in us, and another perspective on hearing the Shofar during Ellul from a parable of the Dubno Maggid.
