We welcome in the UNOFFICIAL Lounge, Crystal Hogan. Hogan speaks about the importance of chasing your dreams while she was a D1 Women’s college basketball referee. Hogan never stopped achieving her goal of becoming a DI Men's college basketball referee. She shares a story of the unwritten rule for 1st-year basketball officials signing up for high school scrimmages. Hogan talks about being born and raised in the CPT to refereeing in the Drew League to the G-League. During this episode, Hogan reflects on the importance of a support group and how she is a positive influence on her daughter. Although she may be the 1st, Hogan expresses the role she has in mentoring and increasing the ranks of more women into DI men's college basketball.

Recently, we welcomed retired #NFL umpire #71 Ruben Fowler to the #UNOFFICIALLounge. Fowler recalls how he got into officiating football after debating calls in a firefighter league game.  Fowler discusses how a chance spring practice invite led to him getting into #CUSA, #NFLEurope, and becoming an NFL official.  Fowler also tells us how he never got to work any big-time rivalry games or major bowl games as a college official. He also shares his advice to former California residents buying property in Texas.
