Fighting is raging again on multiple fronts in Ukraine, with intense combat in the besieged port city of Mariupol- site of some of the war's greatest suffering. Ukranian officials say their forces there are battling the Russians over the Azovstal steel plant, one of the biggest in Europe. The war is now in it's fourth week. Overnight, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy accused Russia of deliberately creating "a humanitarian catastrophe, " but also appealed for Russian President Vladimir Putin to meet him for direct talks. The war has displaced 6.5 million people inside Ukraine, along with the 3.2 million refugees who've already fled the country. Ukraine says that thousands have been killed. 🇺🇦🇷🇺

Russian forces pounded the capital of Kyiv and the country's west with missiles, and the U.N migration agency estates that the war, now in week 4, has displaced nearly 6.5 million people inside Ukraine. That's on top of the 3.2 million refugees who have already fled the country. President Biden and China's Xi Jinping bespoke for two hours today as the White House tries to deter Beijing from providing military or economic aid for Russia's invasion. 🇺🇦🇷🇺🇺🇸🇨🇳

Locally, will he or won't he run again? Former governor Andrew Cuomo is dangling the possibility he may run for his former job just six months after he resigned amid sexual harrassment allegations. Diplomatic efforts appear to be improving however, with Russia circulating a proposed U.N Security Council resolution calling for protections for civilians in Ukraine and safe passage for humanitarian aid. Ukraine says its negotiations with Russia seemed more constructive and Russia has stopped asking for Ukraine to surrender. Still, a convoy of around 2,000 civilian vehicles left along a so-called humanitarian corridor from the besieged port city of Mariupol and another 2,000 vehicles were waiting to leave. 🇺🇦🇷🇺🇺🇳🚘
