The Vaktare

Part one of our exciting and sensual Thirsty Sword Lesbians game, DMed by the ever wonderful Aphi and co-facilitated by the lovely ladies at the Potions & Potpourri podcast, Kala and Keisha. Written by April Kit Walsh for Evil Hat Productions.  Sixty years ago bombs were dropped that released a tasteless, odourless, and colourless film into the water sources of the world and after four years pellets of magnesium were released causing the watershed to evaporate so quickly they exploded. This story follows our rebel band of disaster lesbians as they attempt to free the water being hoarded by the people of New Cisterf in the Kingdom of Heterovia… and overthrow the patriarchy while they are at it.

The party makes landfall in southern Keening and all is quiet, a bit too quiet. The party makes their way off The Succubus to discover recent snowfall has made travel difficult: snowshoes will be required. They meet two of the locals; Gibbi and Bibbi at their small house just north of the docks. After some discussion, it is decided the party will wait until morning to press on to New Tepest. While Alaric and Atlas search for material to make the required snowshoes, they are set upon by ghostly maidens.

We pick up with our intrepid adventurers as they arrive at Ambition, the way station between Big Brook and Gramsby. They find the place abandoned and the spare horses are missing. Upon further inspection they find signs of a scuffle with in but with no spare horses to change out the party must bed down for the night. Thuun and Rhorr unload the carriage and discover that several things are missing as a piece of the netting had come loose during the fight with the Thri-Kreen. After a few rounds of cards and one very questionable trap set by Mira, the group settles in for a long night only to be interrupted by an injured member of Ambition returning. Will the adventurers ever make it to Gramsby? Will Mira find a new gun case for Betsy? Find out next time…

The adventure begins in Big Brook on the planet Brocalo with the party spending an evening in the inn East of Clint, where Mira, Jade, Po, Thun and Rhorr have gathered after returning from assisting a local rancher with a cactus problem. Mira introduces herself to the entire bar. Thun and Rhorr get drunk. Po seems to always have pocket birdseed. And Jade is the group mom trying to herd cats.  A mysterious stranger with an even more mysterious coin is spotted in the bar, and Mira introduces herself. Tensions run high until the party is either too drunk or too tired to care, and find their way to various beds... not necessarily their own. The following morning: the stage coach arrives, driven by the ever unintelligible Kleetus Hammatow and the party hires on as protection. The boys take up position at the back of the wagon, Mira literally calls shotgun, and Jade posts up with the passengers who include an Elvish female named Kobb and the mysterious stranger from the night before. It isn’t long on the trail before the stage is set upon by a group of Thri-Kreen mercs while they weave their way through AssO’rKettle Canyon. A chase ensues.  What will happen when (and if) the party reaches Grambsy? Who is the mysterious stranger with the even more strange powers?  Where did Kobb find dynamite? Will Po ever steal the mandibles?
