Grab a drink, sit back and relax while we talk about vampires tonight. Not your typical Dracula, Transylvania vampires - oh no. We’re talking about Rhode Island vampires, those who were said to carry diseases and curses, that needed to be burned and consumed in order to lift their hold. One of the most documented cases of such a vampire is that of Mercy Brown, who lived in Rhode Island in the 1890s. Her story is just one amongst several others, as New England vampire panic spread across the area as fast as any disease ever could.
