The Vanished Podcast

On the evening of February 24, 1995, 32-year-old Donna Gibson was at home in Louisa, Virginia, with her husband and four young children. She was sick that evening with a respiratory infection and chose to sleep on the couch. Early the next morning, her daughter thought she saw Donna asleep and went quietly back to bed, but just several hours later, she had vanished. There was no evidence of a struggle and no sign of a break-in. However, Donna didn’t disappear without a trace, and all paths pointed her family to one person in the search for her more than 26 years later.

If you have any information about the disappearance of Donna Gibson, please call the Louisa County Sheriff’s Office at 540-967-1234.

On Saturday, June 30, 1984, 21-year-old Harry Milligan finished his job painting a house and met some friends at a bar called Waterworks in Albia, Iowa. The bar was just over a ten-minute drive from his home in nearby Avery, Iowa. We don’t know for sure what transpired inside the bar that night. There have been stories that Harry won a large sum of money in a card game, but this can’t be substantiated. Harry’s friends reported that later they grabbed a six-pack to go and rode around cruising. The group returned to where they had parked their cars and went their separate ways. His friends said they saw Harry drive off in the direction of his home.

The following morning, Harry’s mom was worried that he hadn’t returned home. She began calling around, but no one had seen or heard from Harry. Later, after searching the roads between Albia and Avery, his mom called the police to report Harry missing. There have been many rumors about what happened to Harry, but more than 36 years later, they are still searching for Harry.

If you have any information about the disappearance of Harry Milligan, please contact the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office at 641-932-7815

On September 14, 1990, 10-year-old Kacey Perry disappeared while visiting with her father at his home in Portland, Oregon, after the two had a disagreement. In Part 1, we learned that it’s believed Kacey made it to a store blocks away from her father’s home, possibly to make a phone call to ask someone to pick her up. Witnesses spotted her at this location, and her belongings were later found at the store. It remains unclear if Kacey was picked up by someone she knew or possibly went with a stranger. In the early days of the investigation, one person close to her mom stood out. His name is Brian Keith George. Nearly a year after Kacey disappeared, he was arrested for a bank robbery and had something shocking to tell investigators.

If you have any information about the disappearance of Kacey Perry, please call the Portland Police Bureau at 503-823-0000.

On September 14, 1990, 10-year-old Kacey Perry was visiting with her father at his home in Portland, Oregon. That evening, the two had a disagreement during a conversation about Kacey coming to live with him full-time. Her father told Kacey to go to bed for the night, which he believed she had done. He went outside and chatted with a neighbor for a bit. When he returned, he found that Kacey was missing. Her father drove around the neighborhood but could not find Kacey. That is when he alerted the police that his daughter was missing, and the search began. No one could have guessed that more than 30 years later, they would still be searching for Kacey.

If you have any information about Kacey Perry's disappearance, please call the Portland Police Bureau at 503-823-0000.

In December of 2002, 21-year old James Wiggins left his home in Ruston, Louisiana, on foot, saying he was going to a nearby grocery store. James never returned home. The following morning, the owner of a convenience shop located several miles outside of Ruston found a young man sleeping at his store's doorstep. When he opened up his shop, the man came in and bought a pack of cigarettes. The owner checked the man's identification and reported to the police that he was sure it was James Wiggins. Over the years, there have been some bizarre leads that have come in. Some of these leads point to James being alive, while others point to him being the victim of foul play, but no one knows for sure.

If you have any information about the disappearance of James Wiggins, please contact the Ruston Police Department at (318) 251-8621 or you can contact Ruston Lincoln Crime Stoppers at 318-255-1111.

On the chilly fall evening of November 8, 2007, 24-year-old Kyle Fleischmann went to dinner, drinks, and a show with friends in Charlotte, North Carolina. The evening was a celebratory affair- a friend's birthday, another friend's recent job change. However, the night didn't end on a festive note when friends went their separate ways, and Kyle seemingly vanished into the night, leaving behind only a small number of telling but mysterious clues. More than 13 years have passed, and the last sightings of Kyle include some grainy surveillance footage and the eyewitness account of a cab driver, who watched Kyle walk down the street and disappear from view, and seemingly, life.

If you have any information about Kyle Fleischmann’s disappearance, you are asked to call the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department at 704-336-7600.

Leona Kinsey disappeared from La Grande, Oregon, on October 25, 1999. A friend last saw Leona at a local Walmart. Leona never showed up at her friend's house and was never seen again. In Part 1, we discussed the circumstances surrounding Leona's disappearance and how those close to her began pointing fingers at others.
