This week the Intellects decide to have a "Vexedgiving" prior to next week's Thanksgiving holiday.

What does a Vexedgiving consist of?

A number of drinks, quite a few stories, and a lot of laughs.  While the guys spread the holiday cheer early, they discussed the Maryland Bank Teller who attempted to rob one of his customers; Netflix's new deal with Nickelodeon; Burger King getting sued; and a few drug related news stories that includes a 5 year old bringing cocaine to his school for show and tell.

 Topics the Intellects also touch on were an Iowa man who had his debit card declined shot up a strip club, the "Harriet Tubman of Cats", porn preferences, and the fellas share what they are most thankful for.

This week the Intellects (AND the westside connection) discuss T.I.'s comments about going to the gynecologist annually with his young daughter, and having her hymen checked to ensure that she's still a virgin. 

The rapper and activist received quite a bit of static on social media and from women's rights advocates for these comments. Was he out of line? Should he have kept his personal,  family business close to the breast? Was he too overbearing? Is it better to be an overprotective father as opposed to an absentee one? 

The Intellects discuss this issue extensively. Also, the tragic case of Alexis Crawford, a South Carolina restaurant manager gets sentenced to 10 years for enslaving/beating a black man, a new strain of HIV gets discovered, and Colin Kaepernick gets to work out for NFL teams.

Are black people culture-less? 

During a press interview for his "Jesus is King" album, Kanye West went on Big Boy's neighborhood & claimed that black people are "orphans" & "culture-less". This week the Intellects discuss those comments and what they think it means.  

The Intellects also discuss President Barack Obama's statement about 'cancel' and 'gotcha' culture. Are social justice warriors too 'woke' for their own good? 

Also, chaos ensues in PG county, Maryland as a man is fatally stabbed over a dispute involving the reintroduction of Popeye's famous chicken sandwich. Is it ever really that serious?

They say "people make time for the things they want to make time for", but is it really that simple? 

Is 'making time' subjective? Is there nuance? This week the Intellects discuss this popular saying/meme, and share their individual thoughts and experiences with this topic on a special Halloween edition of The Vexed Intellects.

What does it mean exactly? What are the rules? The term's originator, Yung Miami of the City Girls explains the origins of this phenomenon in a clip. Approximately 77 % of all Americans have a social media profile of some kind. Studies have linked the use of social media to depression, anxiety, poorer sleep quality, lower self-esteem, inattention, and hyperactivity — often in teens and adolescents. This week the Intellects discuss the potential negative impact social media can have on our day to day lives and potential solutions to help combat some of the symptoms.

What is forgiveness? 

Psychologists define forgiveness as a conscious, deliberate decision to release feelings of resentment or vengeance toward a person or group who has harmed you, regardless of whether they actually deserve your forgiveness or not. On the heels of murder victim Botham Jean's family displaying public acts of forgiveness to their loved one's killer, the Intellects talk about forgiveness, and what that looks like to them.
