  • Sharon Flynn from The Fermentary
Sharon Flynn had several periods in her life that influenced what would become her passion and business, but she wasn't aware at the time. The first experience she remembers having an impact on her interest in fermented foods was making sour dough in Seattle. Her dedication to fermented foods really kicked off when her daughter became ill and she researched good bacteria and their influence in building resistances and immunities. When friends and family started asking for her products and insisting on paying for it, this led her on The Fermentary path, and it's grown since then to be one of the best places to buy sauerkraut and other amazing products.

  • The Vincast Episode 097 - Lee Tran Lam From The Unbearable Lightness Of Being Hungry
Lee Tran Lam was ahead of the curve as far as food communication on several occasions. The first was when she started her own food blog about nine years ago, simply to chronicle her own journey of discovery in the world of food and dining. The second was to launch a podcast about food and dining, profiling some of the most exciting chefs and food people in Sydney. Considering she hosts what I consider to be the food equivalent of The Vincast – The Unbearable Lightness of Being Hungry – I thought it a great opportunity to find out what her experiences and influences are on this episode of the podcast.

  • The Vincast Episode 096 - Sam Connew From Stargazer Wines
Would you believe it if I told you that in spite of being born in New Zealand and having extensive winemaking experience, Sam Connew has never had a vintage across the Tasman Sea! She has however worked in some of Australia’s most famous and historic regions, including the McLaren Vale and the Hunter Valley. More recently it has been in Tasmania where she has started carving out her own identity under the Stargazer brand, and she joined me on this episode of The Vincast to talk about how her journey informed her passion for cool-climate expressions.

  • Sue Dyson and Roger McShane from Living Wines
One of the most authentic voices about great restaurants and natural wine comes from somewhere you may least expect; Hobart, Tasmania. This is where for many years Sue Dyson and Roger McShane have been based, travelling and writing about the best places to eat and drink not only on the Apple Isle, but also across Australia and France, for their website Food Tourist. It is also from here that they import some of the most delicious natural wine produced in France for their Living Wines business. We had a fantastic chat about a number of topics on this episode of The Vincast.

  • Lance Redgwell from Cambridge Road Vineyard
Lance Redgwell learned an appreciation for quality produce from his grandmother, who grew many of her own vegetables that she used in her kitchen. Once an adult he discovered wine and liked how it made him think, and decided to embark on a wine career. His policy was to learn by doing, and over his career he has gained experienced in a number of elements of the industry and in many locations. After much searching he decided to create his own wine in the Martinborough region of New Zealand, and the vineyard he purchased happened to be on Cambridge Road.
