Impersonal love for others is one of the two greatest virtues you can have. It’s based on you, what’s in your soul, not the object. “If you are fulfilling the royal law according to the Scripture, You shall love your neighbor as yourself" (James 2:8). It’s an expression of your virtue and humility. Only personal love for God is commanded in the Bible. “Let love of fellow mankind continue” (Heb 13:1). Personal love for people is not a mandate.
