Avenews a multinational financial technology company is building the first financial super app for Kenya’s Agricultural Small and Medium Enterprise. SME accounts for 90% of businesses, 60% of jobs and 40% of GDP in emerging economics. The super app which is meant to provide a comprehensive financial management tool that enables advanced machine learning algorithms to process hundreds of data points and create personalized financial products including access to digital credit.

Speaking during the event held at sarova stanely Country manager Emanuel Murai noted that 600 million jobs will be needed by 2030 to absorb the growing global workforce, making SME development a high priority.

Today the cabinet secretary for National treasury & economic planning Njuguna Ndun’gu has launched the financial year 2023/24 & Medium term budget preparation. The event  was attended by major budget stakeholders and government officials including Ndindi Nyoro Chair of National Assembly appropriation and budget committee, PS of the National Treasury and Economics planning Dr. Julius Muia among other high profiled executives.

CS Njuguna reflected on some of the pressing economic challenges, we have been facing as a country and the policy options available to us to put our economy back on the growth and vibrant trajectory by using the bottom up approach. Budget for the Financial Year 2022/23 progressed smoothly with a shortfall of Ksh 6.2billion a revenue increase of 9.0%. Inflation has increased to 9.25% as of October 2022.

During the forum the State Department of economic planning PS Mr Saitoti Torome highlighted on the (Medium term MTP 4  for development priorities for 2023/24 – 2025/26 project which is a working in progress project that is meant to be launched on March 2023. The project aims at retrieving performance in all economic sectors. The core pillars for the forth coming project are Agriculture, Micro and Small Medium enterprises, Housing and settlement, Health Care and Digital super highway and creative economy.

NCBA branch one of the most leading banks in Kenya has opened a new branch in Utawala. This brings to a total of 86 branches countrywide. The bank which is aiming on investing in the real estate sector has opened the branch as a strategic way to tap into the SME and Real Estate sector. Utawala is one of the fastest growing areas in Nairobi that is characterized by infrastructural development ranging from residential to commercial properties and with a growing urban population.

Speaking at the official opening of the branch, Pauline Ndote the Group Director of Credit Management said they are looking forward to lead their customers who are seeking to acquire, construct or finance property.

Protests were held by representatives of different organizations outside the ODPP's office. The orgs presented a petition sign by the general public against the ODPP asking questions regarding the Covid 19 KEMSA scandal. According to there press statement as seen by the Voice Ke, no action has been taken by the perpetrators of this scandal despite an order by the president for immediate action , more than 3 months later no action has been taken or statements released. They were also concerned that the perpetrators are allowed to run for offices and are using the money gained from the scandal for campaigns. The ODPP who was represented by on of the prosecutors gave a statement and assured the concerned citizens that everything was under investigation and encouraged people not to vote in politicians involved in graft cases. 

The Constitution of Kenya, 2010 places great emphasis on Access to Justice by all, specifically, it provides for rights the Child extensively in Article 53 and reiterates importance of the Child’s best interest consideration in every matter concerning the child. The same is provided for in the Children’s Act of 2001. Access to justice as pertains to Children’s remains a critical tool of enhancing safeguards to child rights as espoused in various legal instruments. It is for this reason that the KNCHR has designated a specific child rights focal point to enhance mainstreaming of child rights programming and ensure swift action to resolve child rights violations and interventions.

In order to narrow the examination, the question pursued here is agent-relative: What social and moral complexities are involved for the adult child when their parent(s) need care? This article examines our society’s expectation that adult children are morally obligated to provide care for their parents.
