I sat down with CSUN colleague Karen (Graduating class 2018!) and had some heart felt conversations.Two days after graduating, Karen went on a 4 week adventure in Europe. During her trip she had some realizations about career and pursuing something that brings you joy. Our conversation eventually became heavier as we talked about childhood trauma and its impact in our adult life. I would like to thank my guest/ co-host Karen for being so open about her past- which encouraged me to also be more open about my troubles and substance addiction. We cover personal experiences in career paths, passions in life, mental health and more!

* Disclaimer *

The conversation we had was us sharing us sharing our own personal life experiences, thoughts and suggestions. In no way shape, or form, do we claim to know everything, or that what we say or suggest is the only right way to approach things. We are not professionals in self care, mental health or life. We are merely human beings like you who are sharing our own personal life experiences and had an open conversation with one another. We hope that being vulnerable and sharing parts of our lives with you helps in some way because we are not alone in our journeys.

Hey everyone, I apologize for the lack of updates. The last couple weeks
I’ve been limiting my time using social media. Social media is powerful because
It’s helped shed light on injustice & police brutality to where it couldn’t be ignored.
Social media has also been emotionally/ mentally draining. Seeing posts about racism, and repeatedly viewing the deaths of
Black people at the hands of law enforcement repeatedly on your newsfeed can take its toll.

Episode recorded 5.20.2020

On this episode I interviewed Michelangelo who a known individual for event planning in the Asian Creative Network in LA.
I’ve been to a couple networking events and Michelangelo was a wonderful and welcoming host.
I was honored he invited me to record our episode live on his discord server “Michelangelo’s Quarantine”.
We chopped it up about event planning, the ups and downs of being in quarantine, Troubled Thursdays,
Hosting events on discord, having a community mindset & more.
