We now come to the last day, the last few hours of the Babylonian Empire. The head of gold is about to fall as the chest and arms of silver come into power.

Babylon looked great on the outside but on the inside is has deteriorated greatly. The king is filled with pride and arrogance, aloof to the great danger outside the walls of his city and the certainty of God's word. He is foolishly leading a drunken feast showing his contempt for God

God reveals Himself to the king by writing a brief, simple and direct statement on the wall of his banquet hall. None of the wise men of Babylon can read it. Only Daniel, the man of God can reveal to the king the word of God in the midst of this great crisis.

When all else fails, the man of God will always stand tall. Our country, our world is standing on the precipice of the greatest crisis it has ever known. Are we prepared to stand tall and declare God's truth in the moment of crisis?

We now see a focus on Sarah and the faith she will need to conceive seed and bear a child. Years earlier, Sarah recognized that God withheld her from having a child when it was possible. Now she needs to believe that God could allow her to have a child when it was totally impossible.

God patiently, firmly, gently and lovingly deals with Sarah as He prepares her to bear Isaac. God first works in Sarah in that He may work through her.

As we look at this passage, we must ask ourselves, am I walking by faith or by sight? Do I truly believe that with God all things are possible?

The purpose of this chapter was the Nebuchadnezzar would know that the Most High rules in the kingdom of men and gives it to whomever He choose. Nebuchadnezzar learned this lesson, but only after he was brutally broken by God.
Not only did Nebuchadnezzar learn that God rules int he kingdom of men, but he also learned that God is able put down all those who walk in pride.

While this chapter is filled with many great lessons, as believers, we must embrace the truth of God's sovereignty. We must see all things through the lens of God's sovereignty. This has a direct impact on how we will live our lives for Jesus. Living in faithful obedience to God's word and the reality of His sovereignty gives power to our witness for Christ.

It has been 13 years since the birth of Ishmael. During this time, Abram has not heard from God. It is during these 13 years of silence that God is preparing Abram to become a great man of faith. May we all be encouraged by those silent seasons.

As God comes to Abram, he changes Abram's name to Abraham and Saria's name to Sarah. God reveals to Abraham greater details concerning His promise to him. Here God specifically tells Abraham that Sarah is the one from whom the child of promise will come. The promise God gives to Abraham is beyond all human possibility, but with God all things are possible.

We are also introduced to circumcision as a sign of this incredible covenant. God gives Abraham clear instructions concerning circumcision. To perform this act of circumcision in adult males is very difficult, yet Abraham's response is immediate obedience. Obedience is everything in the life of a believer.

We now begin to look at a unique chapter within the Old Testament. What makes this chapter so unique is that it was written by Nebuchadnezzar, one of the greatest gentile monarchs who ever lived.

This chapter is a royal proclamation from Nebuchadnezzar. But even more, it is his personal testimony. Here we will see how Nebuchadnezzar came to know that the Most High rules in the kingdom of men. An important message then, and just as important in our present day.

Once again, we see the faith of Abraham being tested. The temptation is to accomplish the will of God according to the acceptable ways of the world. The intention was well meaning, however, good motives often become the enemy to the cause of Christ. We must remember what has been said by others, "God's work must be done God's way".

While God's promises are beyond our ability to humanly comprehend, we must live by faith and not by sight. Abraham needed to wait upon the LORD. Sometimes, the greatest act of faith is to obediently wait upon the LORD.

We now see God deliver these three Jewish men from the fiery furnace. They were willing to risk all for the God and in response, God displays his incredible glory to the entire Babylonian empire.

This is a passage filled with great encouragement and lessons that we all can apply in our present day. The question we must ask ourselves is this, are we willing to risk all for the cause of Christ.

In this study we see Abram struggling with the fear that so readily follows a great victory. God, in His love and grace tells Abram not to be afraid. God is Abram's shield and exceeding great reward.

God reminds Abram of the great promise that He has given to him and now goes into further detail of this great promise. Even more, God strengthens his unconditional promise to Abram. A promise that is still being fulfilled today and will be fulfilled completely when Jesus returns and established His Kingdom

Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego are facing a massive crisis. It is not of their making, yet they must face it all the same. The pressure for these three men compromise and conceal the reality of their relationship with God is immense. Great courage, resolve and faith in God is needed.

The real test for them will be their willingness to risk all for the God. They have been so faithful in so many things, but now, they must risk all.

There is a great lesson for us in this. The real test of our faith if found in what we are willing to risk more than what we are willing to do. If we are not willing to risk all for the cause of Christ, then we are not ready to live for the cause of Christ.

Once again, we see Abram faced with another test of his faith. Abram experiences a tremendous amount victory. It is in the victory that he is tested. As it has been said, faith that has been tested is a faith that can be trusted.

What Abram discovers is that there is far more danger and temptation after the victory than before. It is our response in victory that reveals the depth of our relationship with Jesus.

Abram learned that through the spoils of this world, Satan obtains many souls. Abram refused the spoils ensuring that only God would get the glory in this great victory.
