We continue the process of making full application of the doctrine of justification by faith alone in Christ alone. We must apply doctrine through faithful obedience in order to enjoy its full benefits.
Our first command in response to this great doctrine was to stand fast in the liberty by which Christ has made us free. Now we are commanded to walk in the Spirit and to be led by the Spirit. As followers of Jesus Christ, it is imperative that we understand fully that we cannot live a godly life in Christ Jesus apart from the power of the Holy Spirt.
Walking in the Spirit and being led by the Spirit must be given the highest priority the life of a believer. The return of Christ is at hand. The days are far spent. We need to be living fully for Jesus every waking moment.

Noah and his family are now out of the ark. As they come out and offer sacrifices before the LORD, the LORD then blesses them. Noah has been faithful and obedient to the LORD. Faithful obedience to God will always be the pathway to blessing.
God also makes a covenant with Noah, his descendants after him and with every living creature. The covenant was that God would never again destroy the earth with a flood. The sign of this covenant is the rainbow.
Every time we see a beautiful rainbow in the sky, we are reminded of the faithfulness of God's word and the greatness of His amazing grace.

Paul, so far, has defended his authority as an apostle. He has defended the doctrine of justification by faith. Now he will defend the life of freedom that justification by faith brings.
It is one thing to have a knowledge of the great doctrine, justification by faith. But that is not enough, we need to make application of this great doctrine. It is only by making application of this great doctrine that we are able to enjoy the wonderful liberty that we have in Christ.
One thing that Paul wants to drive home in this passage; legalism is no small thing in the body of Christ. It is destructive from every angle. There is no upside to legalism. Indeed, a little leaven does leaven the entire lump.
Are you ready to make a stand against the leaven of legalism, the leaven of false teachers that has saturated the church today?

In this study we see Noah and his family go into the storm and come out on the other side. God proved Himself faithful in preserving and delivering Noah and his family from the horrific storm of His judgment. God will never judge the righteous with the wicked.
This is a great reminder to us. Although we will experience storms in our Christian journey, God will preserve and deliver us. The key is that we hear God's word, know God's word and obey God's word.
Finally, we saw the obedience of Noah throughout. When Noah came out of the ark, he immediately sacrificed to the LORD. Obedience in the life of a believer will always make worship the priority of our lives.

As we begin chapter 7, we note the faithfulness and obedience of Noah. Noah was a man who walked with God, he feared God. Noah had a life marked by obedience and faithfulness. What an example to follow.
In this chapter we see the judgment of God explode upon the planet. It happened with great suddenness and violence. It happened exactly as God said that it would. Every detail that God spoke was fulfilled without exception. Such is God's word. We should take notice of this fact as the judgment of God is about to explode on this planet once again.
Knowing, according to the scriptures, that the return of Christ is at hand, should impact the way we live for Jesus.

Paul now completes his defense of justification by faith. His final argument uses the law to support this great doctrine of justification by faith. This nailed the door shut on the Judaizers and legalist.
From the scriptures, Paul shows how Sarah and Hagar as well as Isaac and Ishmael present to us a vivid picture of the stark difference between grace and the law. Paul shows us how the law brings bondage, but grace brings freedom in Christ.
Paul concludes by reminding us that we are not children of the bondwoman. We are children of the free woman. We have been justified by faith alone in Christ alone. Therefore, we are heirs of God, we are joint heirs with Christ.

In this study we will look again at our passage from last week. We will highlight the types of Christ that can be found in the ark. Rember, everything in the Old Testament is a shadow Christ. Christ is the substance.
We will then look at the first covenant given by God to man. Much to learn in this first covenant. It clearly states that those who belong to God will not experience the judgment of God.
Finally, we take another look at the faithfulness of Noah. Since the days before the return of Christ will be like the days of Noah, there is much we can learn from the faith of Noah. Even more, it should encourage us to remain faithful in these last days.

Paul continues to establish the doctrine of justification by faith. His argument now begins to go from formal to personal. Up to this point we have seen Paul the apostle. Paul the theologian. Now we see Paul the Pastor.
Set before us is the heart of a pastor. Paul sets an excellent example of what every pastor should look like. He sets the standard of defending biblical doctrine. All pastors must emulate Paul's example. In contrast, Paul also points out to us the trademarks of a false teacher.
A great challenge that we have before is this; Is our Christian life moving forward in liberty or backward into bondage? As Christians, these two paths will ever be before us. There is only one way to be all that Christ has called us to be. That is by faith alone in Christ alone.

We continue to look at the awesome doctrine of justification by faith. We take a second look at verses 26-29 of chapter 3. This is the highpoint of Paul's great argument concerning justification by faith alone in Christ alone.
We are all one in Christ Jesus. We are no longer slaves to sin or the law. We are sons. Thus, we are an heir of God through Christ.
Legalism is tragic in every way possible. There is nothing good about it. Our righteousness is found in Christ alone by faith alone. We can never improve upon the righteousness that we have in Christ Jesus

In this study we look at Noah. Noah was a just man, perfect in his generation and he walked with God. Noah was a man of great faith, a man of the word, a man of prayer and a preacher of righteousness. Noah displays for us a great example to follow.
Noah's days were filled with evil and violence. Demonic activity was everywhere. The great judgment of God through a worldwide flood would come in the days of Noah.
Today, we live in a time much like the days of Noah. This world is on a collision course with the wrath of God. We are living on the precipice of God's judgement. May this knowledge impact the way we live our lives. May we all be challenged to live in obedient faith to Jesus Christ and His word.
