The Way We See It

Satan wants our children and he is using social media, the school system, and negligent parents to achieve this goal. That's what Irwin Lutzer says in his book, No Reason to Hide. The strategy is to divide children from their parents by any means possible. He's trying to confuse our kids on matters of faith, sexuality, and race and while they are confused he will step in and try to indoctrinate them with his secular worldview. God intends for parents to pass our faith on to our children. We must be intentional in order for this to happen.

During this episode Pastor Alex speaks out against the satanic ritual that was seen on national television at the Grammys. Our culture has moved so far away from biblical values and honoring God, that some feel it is acceptable to openly mock God and display their debauchery. I don't care if others won't, I'm calling this out as being completely wrong.

Pastor and Therapist, Jason Tourville shares insight with Alex and Angela about recognizing when our bodies, minds or spirits are off kilter. This past week, Tony Dungy spoke at the Rally for Life event in Washington DC. As a part of his speech he mentioned that millions of people got together and called on God because a life was at stake and they wanted to see that life saved. He was talking about Damar Hamlin, the NFL player that collapsed on the field. He then went on to say that everyday, lives are at stake, speaking of the millions of babies being aborted everyday, who are still important in the eyes of God. Many called on him to be fired for these comments. That's ridiculous. We talk about this situation in this episode of our podcast.

In this episode, Alex and Angela are joined by their friend Shelley Holcomb Larrick who shares her heartfelt story of dealing with the murder of her youngest son. Chandler was only 23 years old and had a bright future ahead of him when he was murdered in his own home by gang members. Shelley has had to work through all the questions of why this happened to him and is now determined to honor Chandler through her Do Better Be Better Foundation. This story will definitely touch your heart and encourage you at the same time. This is an episode that you will want to share with anyone you know who is dealing with grief.

Social justice teaches us that there are some things that happen in our society that we should all become outraged about. You may not have known the official definition so we will lay it out. Moral outrage is justifiable anger, disgust, or frustration directed toward others who violate ethical values or standards. Although this sounds good, in this episode of the podcast, Pastor Alex breaks down what is at the root of moral outrage and why he thinks we need to be on guard.

As you begin the new year, and have most likely set a few goals for yourself, make sure you keep the main things the main thing. We have established a group for people who want to join us in reading through the entire Bible in 2023. One of the goals is to help people align their life in a way that they will be able to discover their true identity. Let us be reminded that Galatians 2:20 says, "I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me." No matter what you are faced with in 2023, never forget you are a child of the King and your identity can be realized in that.

The way we think is so important to the success we will have in life. We all have one of two mindsets. Some people have a FIXED mindset; which means they believe that whatever knowledge, skills, abilities, or talents they are born with are fixed and cannot be changed. Other people have a GROWTH mindset; which means they can develop new skills, talents, abilities, and gain more knowledge for as long as they are on this planet. Famed Christian music artist Amy Grant shocked many when she announced she is hosting a same-sex wedding. When her niece originally came out, Grant's reaction was; "What a gift to our whole family to just widen the experience of our whole family".
