THE WAYNE GALE VARIETY HOUR / The Lutefisk Sushi Podcast » Podcast Feed

On WGVH119: Host DANNO KLONOWSKI is joined once again by RYAN COLLER for a third installment of TREK TALK!

FIRST: RYAN and DANNO get into speculative TREK mode with the upcoming STAR TREK BEYOND film and 2017’s STAR TREK streaming series.

NEXT: DANNO and RYAN discuss the great ST:TNG documentary CHAOS ON THE BRIDGE, and DANNO recommends you check out the STAR TREK-themed Youtube channels TREKSPERTISE and JUNKBALL MEDIA!

FINALLY: Last year on WGVH95 Danno interviewed filmmaker TOMMY KRAFT about his then-upcoming STAR TREK fan film HORIZON. Well, the upcoming is now the present, and prior to recording RYAN and DANNO watched STAR TREK: HORIZON (which is now available on Youtube), and are here with their thoughts and review.

On WGVH118: Hosts MATT RISNES & DANNO KLONOWSKI (and the SWEETY MAN!) are back for another strange, funny, politically bent, end of days for America good time!

FIRST: We have an UNO HITTRE for PANDING!–aka 2008’s KUNG-FU PANDA–because why not. MATT loves it, DANNO thinks it’s OK, but this leads to a larger discussion about the film’s themes & technical achievements, what makes for a good kids movie, and why PANDING was the best STAR WARS PREQUEL.

NEXT: MATT leads a discussion about the recent race-related incident of PANTERA frontman PHIL ANSELMO. We discuss the case history leading up to the incident, what the aftermath has been in our modern Internet/Social-Justice culture, and what the larger implications of such a culture are.

FINALLY: DANNO leads a tangentially-related discussion about the recent YOUTUBE #WTFU FAIR USE controversy, and while it gets a bit conspiratorial, there are larger “THOUGHT CRIME” implications connected to both of these events that could potentially affect not only THE WAYNE GALE VARIETY HOUR one day, but you & everyone else who uses the internet. Which is everyone.

SHOW NOTE: This episode was recorded in the early days of the #WTFU debacle when the videos DANNO talks about are more reactionary, ergo some of DANNO‘s blind panic. In the days that followed, many of the personally affected content creators made much more level-headed videos that explain everything in greater detail. PLEASE WATCH THIS! This sort of corporate regulation of the internet is the beginning of the end if left unchallenged.

WELCOME BACK to the WAYNE GALE VARIETY HOUR!!! As you may have noticed there hasn’t been a new show in a while. Basically, I (Danno) while on actual vacation realized I was very burnt out doing this show weekly, and combined with the fact co-host/co-founder/soul brother #1 MATT RISNES will be very unavailable for the foreseeable future, I decided the show needed a change.

From now on the WAYNE GALE VARIETY HOUR will be a MONTHLY show. I’m phasing out guests, and so all co-hosting duties on episodes MATT can’t record will be performed by the lovable and awesome WGVH staff: ANDY LUNN, JEREMY ZOSS, ANDY SWART, DAN NORDQUIST, possibly THE NELS, and who knows, maybe even RAFE GUTTMAN for realzies this time.

ONE NEW EPISODE A MONTH begins in December, but until then please enjoy this “LOST” WGVH recorded about two months ago, featuring familiar voices on the WGVH including: RYAN COLLER, CORY SWAP, and the bachelor himself, AARON “CAPTAIN HONKASS” WALLACE!

Peace to the Highest Moon!!!
